Ex-FBI chief Comey’s ‘86 47’ social media post condemned by White House as attempt to put ‘hit’ on p

What is good for the 45th President is always good for the underlings. Purge his Ass and clean him up. Make Comey sweat, feel the heat, drain his cash.

 

He’s just another thug of the violent left.

 

This reminds me a lot of the absurd narrative that the search of Mar-a-Lago was a backdoor attempt to assassinate Trump because the warrant had boilerplate authorizing the use of force if necessary. The narrative was absurd because Trump was advised of the search in advance and he wasn't even present at Mar-a-Lago when it was conducted. All search warrants authorizing searches by the FBI have that language. To any rational person Comey was not calling for the assassination of Trump although I guess that we wouldn't be surprised since MAGA and rational are frequently mutually exclusive.

 

Might want to check out where most the violent political actions have come from in the past twenty years. Comey is also a a lifelong Republican turned never Trumper.

 

Well I think I figured this whole thing out. The 86/47 call is a dog whistle that ONLY right wingers can hear. After right wingers have attempted to shoot Trump twice now it stands to reason that right wingers who can hear the call are outraged and why those of us who cant hear it are not. I mean, directing your call to the actual killers makes total sense. Brilliant Comey but you should be in jail for that.

 

Sometimes I wonder if you are just trolling the board with your posts, but when you post something like this, it removes all doubt.

 

As opposed to the thug of the violent right who pardoned hundreds of his fellow thugs of the violent right.

 

Based upon our life experiences and how we view J Comey, we all have opinions as to the message he was conveying when he posted the “shell” photo. I don’t believe any of us have a factual knowledge of what he was communicating. I believe Comey is an intelligent, educated man and should realize that many will not look favorably on his social media activity, whatever he posts. That’s how it goes in a politicized environment, an environment in which he plays.

 

We don’t? Well, we certainly know what he wasn’t communicating.

If you want to say he probably should have known better, fine. But to think he was advocating violence in any way is just wishful thinking among the MAGA faithful. To have Trump and cabinet members calling for his imprisonment is a disgrace. It’s something we would expect to see in North Korea. That people such as other here, and maybe yourself can’t see that is disappointing to say the least.

Also Trump and his minions can say all kinds of inflammatory stuff but as soon as anybody says anything bad about Trump the MAGA Pc police surge into play. It is no different than the left wing PC mob mentality of Twitter years ago.

 

I agree with you, gaterz, and said basically the same above. I just think once we recognize that our own past influences our judgements, that we should lower the confidence in our judgements. And in this case, where our priors loom so large, we should not assume Comey deserves jailing.

I do still believe there are real truths that we must accept regardless of our personal pasts. Comey really posted that photo. Trump really enacted these tariffs. But when we find ourselves divided on what some politician really meant, we should take a step back and concede ignorance, as you are suggesting.

 

This is what Comey says. I take the point that people often lie, and Comey may be lying here. Still, others should take the point that he might not be. By the same token, people may be lying when they say that the FBI director should know that 86 means killing. None of us has been the director of the FBI, so why should we just assume that this claim is obviously true?
