Play continues with some teams not yet teeing off, but the Gator women shot even par and are sitting 3rd (Vandy -6 and Oklahoma St -4) in the clubhouse. Live scoring is here: https://scoreboard.clippd.com/tournaments/236560/scoring/team
Women have wrapped up day one. Half the field went off in the morning session, looks like the 15 lowest ranked teams and the 15 highest ranked in the second session. Uf finishes at even par, 3rd place of 15 in their session. Vandy leads at 6 under and Ok St next at 4 under. Tough to gauge at the moment given the higher ranked teams are just underway. We will see what k8nd of rounds they put up and see if uf is in the mix. My total guess is uf will be in the mid teens....but maybe conditions toughen in the afternoon and hurt scoring
Yeah top 15 seeds go in the afternoon on day one, morning tomorrow. So it was importantly we took some advantage of the morning, which we did, 3rd in our set. Winds are supposed to be up the next few hours, so hopefully the course dries out some and helps us. Tomorrow looking at the forecast wind is higher in the AM, but some rain in the PM. Should keep the course soft for us, so maybe we get lucky and get the better of both days. Cut to 15 after day 3, so that’s the first goal.
Currently sitting in 7th.....5 of the top 8 are SEC teams. Several top 10 teams are over par early in the round
Most of the afternoon field struggling....some badly. Uf in 6th and decent chance they remain in top 10
#2 Arkansas and #3 So Car are both 8 over about halfway thru back 9....in 22nd place. Most of the top 10 teams are over par
Texas has a little hot streak and ties uf while some of the leaders back up.....5 way tie for third at even par. #1 Stanford 5 over #2 Arkansas 9 over #3 south Carolina 9 over #4 FSU 7 over 5 Oregon and 6 Texas even #7 wake 17 over Some of those teams still finishing
Going to be a 4 way tie for 3rd at E Tennessee is alone in 9th at 3 over....that's the cutoff for match play(lot if golf to be played before we worry about that) The first cut is top 15....that's 6 over thru today
Weather did all I hoped and more. And as I said,if the forecast holds, it will be a more even day between morning and afternoon tomorrow.
Poor start, 4 over approaching the end of front 9. 8th place and falling. Fsu had a good round, ahead of uf now
Initially they will cut at 15, then another round and top 8 advance to match play Uf held steady for a while, but now 6 over, 11th place and going in the wrong direction
"Following 54-holes, the top-15 teams and nine individuals on a non-advancing team on Sunday earn a spot play in the final round of stroke play on Monday where the NCAA Individual Champion will be crowned after 72-holes. The top-8 teams after 72-holes will advance to match play which features the quarterfinals and semifinals conducted on Tuesday, followed by the finals on Wednesday. All four final days can be watched live on Golf Channel."
