No they don’t. Like the US it can be geographical with some areas having high and others low. But overall they have low fluoride counts in natural water.

“The concentration of fluoride in ground water in the EU is generally low…”

Fluoride has become medical dogma and political sadly. The science is changing. Funny how people will not accept it. I posit that it is because of team politics. Which is sad.

If you are not cavity prone and your dentist pushes fluoride. I would consider looking for another dentist instead of giving them money for a treatment that you do not need and can have negative affects to the microbiome. If you are cavity prone the reward can outweigh the harm.

If there is any credence to the studies coming out on Fluoride in water then we should not be putting it in water if you ask me.

Fluoride is good for brushing your teeth, however... there is too much science that proves it in NOT GOOD TO INGEST.

But here's the thing, Tilly. If you want to add fluoride to your water I'm sure you can find some to add to your personal drinking water. I applaud not having it in my drinking water. Remember you can still brush your teeth every day... with fluoride toothpaste.

The people upset about this are the same people who don’t question anything in medicine. They let antiquated medical dogma guide them. It is a problem for sure.

If you are still going to the doctor and just letting them run basic diagnostics as your test…

Do not be upset when an unexpected event happens you were not prepared for.

So many refuse to accept the real science happening. And it is bipartisan!

Fluoride is overrated in 2025 in western societies. It was added 80 years ago because dental hygiene sucked in the US. Case in point, me. I haven't drunk tap water in decades because I don't like the taste of tap water nor can I tolerate the chlorine smell in all tap water from the southern US to the west. Some places are worse than others. But I brush my teeth with a fluoride toothpaste and I get 2 checkups a year and haven't had a cavity in 20 years.

Some may say children aren't great at brushing their teeth but that's on the parents then. It you start your kids early, 18 months, they will learn to brush their teeth. There are children's version that are safe in case you worry about ingesting too much fluoride but most kids aren't drinking from the tap anymore. Most households are using Brita filters and the like.

Really, Americans should fear more than losing out on Fluoride in our water system. There are 200 other chemicals that aren't filtered out. It's very possible many of our health issues is directly tied to how bad our tap water really is.

The party of small gubmnt and local control has told city of ft myers that they will NOT be allowed to put fluoride. Apparently not only is it not required, it is banned.

Wth..children are going to suffer, mostly lower income with poor dental habits and little to spend on fluoride rinses, treatments, let alone inclination to use it.

This won't last, but it will cause a lot of pain and suffering in dental chairs and greater burden on the low to middle income.

    Just STUPID

Fluoride stays in Fort Myers water as council listens to dentists

Not only are we not going to require our public systems support good health practices, we are going to prevent them from doing so

    Brilliant

Partially true. For a certain % of the population, it wouldn’t affect them at all. Obviously a lot of people don’t have municipal water at all. For those on municipal water, some will use flouride rinse and toothpaste and some won’t. Those harmed will be the poorer residents who maybe needed that flouride to supplement insufficient brushing (esp kids).

Your point on chemicals would carry more weight, but for one problem: the people most into this bizarre anti-flouride treated water movement pretty much either don’t give a shit about or would deregulate many/most of those 200 dangerous chemicals. It’s completely bizarro.

I'm 54 and have had a whole-house and under-the-counter water filtration system for 25 years. No fluoride in our water. I don't use toothpaste with fluoride. Never had a cavity.

I'd be curious if they include medications like ADHD meds in these studies. Many medications affect oral health by drying the mouth and decreasing saliva, which is essential for maintaining good oral hygiene. Google AI is showing roughly 20% of kids are medicated under the age of 11.

You likely also practice good dental hygiene, have good genetics for that, and regularly visit a dentist. Things 90% of the low income don't do

You've already seen countries try this. They dropped fluoride and saw an increase in pediatric cavities

This is a fair concern. Yet…should we subject all kids to potential negative outcomes because some do not have parents providing good care?

It is a fair question. But fluoride in water is just a political football in the end. Some communities need to reduce the natural fluoride in water…

I have crazy fluorosis and could have one of the best fix if on the cheap (including helping my bite). But I like my smile.

that is the issue, the term potential. the potential is so damn low that the benefit exponentially outweighs the risk. just like the covid vaccine, the science is clear. you will never agree to it, it makes it no less true

This it's not even a experiment. It's already been completed by other countries that removed fluoride and we know the outcomes. Why are we moving backwards?

The science has been changing on fluoride in water. And we do not know the potential. We should not be harming kids. The benefits have to outweigh the harms to all in a situation like fluoride.

And the science is clear on the Covid shot. It was a complete failure. I understand you disagree. But there is no reason to cause inflammation with these shots in your body. Especially over and over again. Something tells me you are part of the vast majority the know this now.
