Just got in. Ezra Brooks with water is waiting. We have Kolt Myers, IF, left but is reds shirted. McDonald can play first. Already burned Brookins red shirt and now catcher Clayton.

What a cluster of an inning to give up five runs on one hit.

And we had our chance to blow the game open in the first inning and didn't come up with the big hit.

A couple of bright spots, though.

Coppola was outstanding in the first two innings and not just because he threw 6 Ks and the only ball hit in play was booted. It was how he got the six Ks. It wasn't by being overpowering with fastballs. He was topping out about 91 mph. Instead he put on a clinic about how to change speeds in a count. You have to have command of at least one and better yet two off speed pitches to do that. Very impressive.

Rowland was also very sharp on the bump.

No victory margaritas tonight. Maybe tomorrow.

 

Pretty much gifted this game . Bama with 9 runs on 6 hits, 5 earned. Barlow with an unusual pitching line, gave up 3 earned runs but no hits and took the loss. .
Gator pitchers with 17Ks. That's a positive.
