Pro-Trump Nashville Restauranteur Forced to Shutter Kitchens in Fear of ICE Raids

Steve Smith, a prominent Trump donor and conservative Nashville bar owner, was forced to close kitchens at three of his high-volume Broadway properties over the weekend, as management told workers afraid of being arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to go home.

According to one employee, staff were told to go home mid-shift Saturday night after ICE activity surged in the area. The decision impacted staff at The Diner, Honky Tonk Central, and Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk.

“We were already understaffed because of the ICE raids throughout the weekend,” one worker told the Nashville Scene. “Then, around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, our manager came back and told anyone without legal status to go home. Events at the Ryman, Ascend, the Savannah Bananas’ baseball game all let out, and it was crazy busy. But there was no one in the kitchen to cook the food.”

Sources say staffing shortages persisted through Sunday as employees stayed home, afraid of arrest.

The fun part about all of this is that Nashville is notoriously blue, so it is clearly being targeted ahead of other locations in TN.

But a lot of the tourists, and clearly some of the business owners, are clearly Trump supporters. Doesn't bother me a bit to see them suffer.

I guess ICE should arrest the restaurant managers who helped the employees avoid raids like they did the judge in Wisconsin.

Arrest Mr Smith for employing illegals, raid his restaurants, shut him down and seize his company, send the IRS deep into his books. Go full MAGA on traitors protecting criminals...amiright

Obviously, they won't do that.

This is all just part of the dog and pony show to convince Trump supporters that they're doing anything meaningful about illegal immigration ....... without so much as even proposing lasting or effective legislation.

I wish we could fast-forward to the end of the Trump regime in order to laugh at how people got conned (again) by his lies about fake immigration reform.

The Supreme Court on Friday blocked President Donald Trump from moving forward with deportations under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act for a group of immigrants in northern Texas, siding with Venezuelans who feared they were poised for imminent removal under the sweeping wartime authority.

The decision is a significant loss for Trump, who wants to use the law to speed deportations – and avoid the kind of review normally required before removing people from the country. But the decision is also temporary and the underlying legal fight over the president’s invocation has continued simultaneously in multiple federal courts across the country.

The justices sent the case back to an appeals court to decide the underlying questions in the case, including whether the president’s move is legal and, if it is, how much notice the migrants targeted under the act should receive.
