There are a number of frustrating miscues that need to stop! 1. Timeouts to avoid a delay of game penalty. 2. Taking too long to send a play in. 3. Eating up clock when we don't have the lead or much of one. We averaged 27 seconds a play call, and that stat caused the Gators to be 87th in the nation. 3. Penalties that killed drives. 4. Not focused from beginning to end--coaches and/or players. The mental part--lacking--has led to losses. My list is not an exhaustive one. Some of you will think of other issues that are correctable. I don't mean this to bash the Gators. I recently saw the Gators at 15 for the preseason. I doubt they will stay in the top 25 unless these correctables are fixed. Your thoughts?
Losing games because of special teams miscues (getting ONLY 11 men on the field) is the most frustrating for me. This could fall under number 1... Last year we lost the Tennessee game because of lack of preparation or management... ALL ON THE COACHES. Get that fixed and I will be happy.
If we had fsu's schedule, we may be top ten. If we get 9 wins with our schedule, we will be pretty decent but still probably ranked further down tgan we deserve. Wasnt indiana ranked fifth? Or at least at some point.
False starts Stupid Penalties This Off is different now. Play action on 1st and Second downs Give DJ and this Off a chance within 2 minutes b4 half. Wrap up on tackles. Redzone Off needs to improve. Young secondary needs a pass rush desperately.
eastwest said it but, to me the reluctance to play for points at two minutes or so before halftime disappoints me.
I can't remember which game it was but we were in the two minutes and we did some bullshit plays to get a first down and then we ran the ball up the middle three times and ran the clock out. That made no sense at all.
Billy has to get it together as a competitive, SEC gameday coach/manager. Period. Anything less than significant improvement in several areas won't do. I like BN a lot and his recruiting has been admirable considering he's only amassed a .500 record at UF. But the self-inflicted wound stuff is getting old.
At least two recent games where we shot ourselves in the foot. Arky and Tenn. Should have had both of those in the bag. Sometimes the margin between an L and a W is narrow. Close that gap and a bunch of us are happy.
