Smith is OK when she isn't with Mowins. Mowins brings her down to her level. Don't care for Mendoza. See above.....it will take a long time before Lawrie comes off my shit list and I considered her fairly good before her major screwup. Amanda is OK even when doing an A&M game. She still tries to be fair and I see no reason to hide her Aggie ties. You always knew where Francesca's heart was ultimately during a game although she was fair. Same goes for Aleshia. No reason to pretend these announcers don't have a background that means much to them. Doesn't bother me.
I'm not pretending anything. Just some announcers do a better job of being objective in those situations. As I said, when it comes to announcers every one is disliked by somebody.
It back in 2015. Hill was doing a Gainesville regional game with the Gators and FAU. The Gators previously beat Hofstra and Florida A&M decidedly. It was a low scoring game that the Gators won 1-0. Haeger pitched a beaut 2 hitter. Each team had 1 error. I remember Hill's derogatory comments thru out the game saying the Gators do not look like a WCWS quality team, etc. Yes, this was the team that eventually won the 2015 WCWS. I think of this every time I hear her commenting on a game. My opinion of her couldn't be lower.
I initially didn't care for Lawrie due to her role in the 2009 WCWS. But when she started softball commentary I thought she was pretty good. She was a reality check compared to the other rah-rah commentators. I remember a few years ago she was announcing a Gator game and incorrectly referenced a couple of Gator record stats. I immediately noticed. Soon after she commented something like - "I was incorrect about those Gator stats earlier. You Gator fans were quick in letting me know about that". After that I started to like her more. She is pretty much the best in telling it like it is.
I like Scarborough's voice and demeanor. But that series (I think last year) with TA&M when there were a couple of unusual plays, she didn't have a clue. One was a mix up of a line drive that ended up a double play and the other was a supposed infield fly (in Amanda's mind) that resulted in a double play. I think that one got the TA&M 1st base coach ejected. Amanda just would let those plays go - she kept disagreeing with the ruling. Ever since then, she dropped a peg in my eyes.

I replied to your post as it was relevant. The comment about "pretending" was a universal comment not directed at you.
This is why Taylor just might be our center fielder next year. With her height, she just might be able to clear the fence even more than Kendra.
As a fan one becomes attached to these girls particularly players like Falby & Walsh that have spent their entire college careers as Gators. They will be missed.
When I lived much closer I would go to Sr. Day, didn't matter the sport, I always got a tear or three in my eyes.
I looked back and since the ALA series, Comia has only played once and then as a pinch runner. During this period we have only played our regular 8 players in the defense. On offense during this period is these 8 plus Brown as DP. No players used to give our players a rest or to gain experience. No pinch hitters. No defenisive or offensive specialists like Avery and Baylee. Only pinch runners. What does this have to say about our bench strength? Hope the 9 players continue to be iron-women!
It says the subs aren't better defenders or hitters than the starters. Pretty common to shorten the bench as you reach late season and play crucial games. We also have some redshirt/injury impact that reduces the roster.
