And as usual; no guarantees on this, but if she were required to have more thorough (any?) training to buy this stuff, it's pretty safe to assume that that training would include a comprehensive explanation of legal liability for strawman purchasers which very possibly might have discouraged her and prevented her from making such a purchase. Again, obviously no guarantee, but a(nother) very obvious example of how increasing training/education requirements for firearm purchases very possibly can prevent mass shootings. Queue up the 2A people; "There's absolutely nothing we can do to prevent mass shootings or gun violence!"
Yeah, we get it. Unfettered access to firearms. If people get slaughtered, it's the cost of doing business. Which makes the fearmongering about the 2a ever going away or " them" going door to door to take away firearms utterly absurd.

Paraphrasing, even in the Heller decision in which the Court found an individual right to the ownership of firearms, Justice Scalia said the the phrase "shall not be infringed" does not mean unlimited. As an example the prohibition against ownership of fully automatic weapons is still banned.
