She fired two top officials who are responsible for Trump intelligence briefings because they said something Trump didn’t want to hear.

“Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has fired the top two officials at the National Intelligence Council, weeks after the council wrote an assessment that contradicted President Donald Trump’s rationale for invoking the Alien Enemies Act and deporting alleged Venezuelan gang members without due process.

Gabbard removed Michael Collins, the acting chair of the National Intelligence Council, as well as his deputy, Maria Langan-Riekhof, according to a spokesperson for Gabbard’s office.

The actions are the latest purge by Gabbard, who has said she is fighting politicization of the intelligence community but has removed or sidelined officials perceived to not support Trump’s political agenda.

The NIC is the top U.S. intelligence community body for analyzing classified intelligence and providing secret assessments to the president and other top policymakers. Its reports include spy agencies’ annual global threat assessment and studies of the possible causes of anomalous health incidents, also known as Havana syndrome, and the origins of the coronavirus that led to the pandemic in 2020.”

Trump, and We The People, demand to have like-minded people carrying out his agenda in his (Executive Branch) agencies.

Firing people is always a difficult thing to do. Tulsi has served our nation honorably. To insinuate without justification, that she merely fired these individuals to appease President Trump, is a reflection of TDS. Tulsi has never struck me as someone who would fire subordinates on a whim or compromise her values. It's sad when weak limp-wristers immediately leap to impugn her integrity. Tulsi is a true patriot. God Bless Tulsi Gabbard.

I saw headlines a few weeks ago that Trump has not been attending most if any of his daily intelligence briefings.

I wonder if these firings are retaliation against individuals thought to have leaked that info to the press.

In MAGA's version of The Emperor's New Clothes, the little kid at the end that shouts out, "He's not wearing anything!" would be immediately deported.

The hypocrisy is totally lost on them.

Based in part including the subject of this thread, there will not be any in the White House until January 20, 2029.

Kinda dumb on its face. Why would the intelligence briefing stray into a legal conclusion? Isn’t that the White House counsel job to opine?

Don't you think that's what they were asked to produce? Evidence they could use in court to invoke the AEA? Guess there are still people around in the intelligence services who remember the Iraq debacle.

100%. That is what someone does that is protecting themselves under the past accountability standards. Under the Trump Admin, everyone gets a pardon?

It's like a Russian soap opera of characters fighting for influence and control of the narrative. I think Homeland Security is redundant and should be abolished well before the Education Dept.

Gabbard Seeks to Consolidate Her Control of President’s Daily Brief - The New York Times

Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, is moving the assembly of the president’s daily intelligence brief from the C.I.A. headquarters to her own complex, according to officials briefed on the move.

The brief, a summary of intelligence and analysis about global hot spots and national security threats, is overseen and presented to the president by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. But C.I.A. officers write much of the analysis in the document and produce it, pulling together articles and graphics on the agency’s classified computer systems.

Ms. Gabbard’s decision comes as President Trump has openly mused to aides over time about whether the office she leads — which was created after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to improve interagency coordination — should continue to exist, according to two people with knowledge of his remarks. Ms. Gabbard has discussed Mr. Trump’s concerns with him directly and has considered how to overhaul the office, according to one official.

Ms. Gabbard’s office announced the decision internally on Tuesday. C.I.A. staff were told in a memo from the agency’s directorate of analysis that such a move had been considered several times over the years.

The difference between the Administration of Trump 1.0 and Trump 2.0 is that during his first administration Trump actually had advisors and staff who provided him with objective advice. This time he only want yes men (or women) who agree with his predetermined positions. Dissent with the Dear Leader even it's in private with the intent of providing objective advice to Trump is obviously grounds for dismissal.
