Women already advanced thru regionals, Men's Regional starts this morning. UF is the second highest ranked team in this field behind Az St UF one of the early starting groups....about halfway thru front 9. Kress Turner Poulter all 1 under, Gilligan one over, Swanick score being dropped at 3 over. 2 under is the early lead, but no separation from the field this early
Really nice day, everyone but Swanick under par. 9 under for the day. K st 2nd at 3 under, AZ st at 2 under. Cut line to advance 1 over
I think winning the SEC tournament maybe gave them the confidence that they are a s good as anyone in the country and have the ability to win the national title. Would love to see it happen again. Nice start today for sure.
K st and AZ st fell apart at the end of their rounds, but utah got hot and went to 5 under Uf -9 Utah -5 Usf +1 Col +2 K st +2 AZ st +4 So Car +5
Ncaa tracker has now flipped az st back to 2 under and utah3 over....I should know by now not to trust their postseason tech
Florida & Arizona State running away with this regional. UF at -14 almost halfway through round 2, Arizona State at -8. Next closest is USF at +1. Of course, still have the rest of today and Round 3 tomorrow, but looking good for the Gators so far.
Running away even more...uf at 19 under and AZ st at 14 under Crazy part....uf is likely to drop the score for Ian Gilligan each of the first two days. They are doing this without help from their senior AA who is a top 5 golfer in the country. Their second best golfer is Turner and he isn't lighting it up either. The 2 streaky guys Poulter and Kress are both 7 under

Gilligan is +8 over two days but wasn't too bad until a meltdown +8 on the back nine today (18th still pending), including a quintuple bogey on the 14th that he birdied yesterday.
He birdies 18, only 7 over. Maybe worst 2 days of an illustrious career Team almost done for the day....at 23 under. Poulter and Kress on fire. AZ st also tearing it up. 3rd place is 1 under.
Gilligan has definitely had a bad tournament so far. BUT, Kress & Poulter have been tremendous. Gators are at -25 after Round 2, 2nd place Arizona State 9 shots back at -16. South Carolina is 3rd at -1. Kress and Poulter are a combined -19 after the first 2 days.
Poulter and Turner with early birdies and uf to 27 under Only negative is Gilligan coming out bogey bogey on first 2 holes. Absolutely have to get him back in all American form before nationals.
Gators not playing great today. Arizona State making a push. On the back 9 Florida only up by 5 strokes.
What's impressive about this tournament is that the Gators are winning it without their best golfer, All American Ian Gilligan, contributing much. He's +5 for the tournament right now and that's with him at -2 today. Kress is at -13, Poulter -10, so winning the regional with your #1 guy having the lowest score on the team is a huge confidence builder for the other guys.
just want to be cautious, how many times do pro's shoot 63 one day, 79 the next day, same course, same weather
Well, the Gators finished on top of this Regional, shooting -28 for the tournament to Arizona State's -25. The other 3 teams advancing are Colorado at -3, USF at -1 and South Carolina at E. Gator Matthew Kress shared the individual title with 2 other golfers at -11, Luke Poulter finished 4th at -10, with Jack Turner finishing 12th at -2. This should get them plenty ready for the NCAA Championship tournament at Carlsbad, California starting May 23. Go Gators!!
