When you have nothing, you make moves. It worked for them last year bringing in Cam Ward. Something tells me that our staff thinks we have something....let's hope they're correct. My coach trust-o-meter has been broken by the last 15 years of futility, so for me its wait and see.
What do you mean? Previous two pre seasons staff said basically, we are fully prepared and ready to go. I hope this season they actually are.
Die, Coaches are like politicians, they LIE. What do you expect them to say? Well this year the cupboard is empty and you may expect us to suck? Lol I do get your point though. The truth about player and depth quality in a given year tends to slowly leak out after the season or beyond. The proof is in the W - L record and NFL draft. As interested fans we can reach our own conclusions One of my own conclusions is UF was not close to SEC upper level in Napiers first two years.
NIL to attract starters from other programs that were all Big 10 is good use of your money. We have some players with potential to be good but no replacing starting experience. Don’t think we have good enough recruiters in place. A seat at table but always number 2 or 3.
I think our staff/recruiters are top notch, just need a consistent higher winning %. That being said we don't appear to offer bags as large as the very top contenders. Does any one school grab every player that they want?
Bama pretty much took their 25 and everyone got the rest for wuite a while. Texas is taking five 5* kids annually. Theres still a vast void between 10 and one.
I know. But don't appear to be a conman or a HC that doesn't understand what it means to be prepared. If you say your Defense is going to be really good, it needs to be. If it's not really good and you said it would be, look in the mirror because credibility matters. And by all means, listen to assistants.
They still didn’t get every one they wanted. They may have gotten more of who they wanted than we did, but nobody gets everybody.
They all say theyre good and then they play the games. Sometimes the other teams are just better. Cam Ward slapped our defense so hard, it took half a season for the smelling salts to work.
Its was pretty damn loosided. They were so far ahead of the fifth team it wasnt even funny. Its just different teams when the stakes went up, saban knew tge inbreds couldnt compete.
I don't follow 128 FBS teams preseason. He was able to complete a lot of passes to uncovered receivers, true. But who slapped our Defense, Cam Ward or the staff that failed to have the team ready?
Cam Ward busted up every defense put in front of him. The kid was good and it wasnt superior coaching
