With Todd talking about Haugh at the 3, and all the discussion here about that...who would be a comparable to Tommy at the 3?

He'll be backed up by a guard. Ingram is the only three and he won't be ready for SEC minutes for another year.

The staff compared him to Parsons. Similar size, good vision, plus rebounder, finishes at a high level. Don’t think he is anywhere near as good on the ball or as athletic. Took Parsons a while to get his shot down and to become a point forward, though I don’t think the staff envisions that necessarily.

Hmm. Parsons. Excellent player and a good comparable. I think they have the same height, but Parsons probably had a little more length in the arms.
Haugh has a motor stuck in 5th gear with no clutch though. That's his super power. Parsons needed to get elbowed in the face to get his motor into 5th gear. When that happened, he would dominate the game for the next 6 or 7 minutes.

I have seen exactly zero minutes of CJ Ingram playing. That said, from what I see from multiple sources online (so it must be accurate) is that he will be ready from the start and will be in the rotation. Lloyd possibly as well.

Heard that too Planet. Hear both of these kids have serious game. Highly ranked. I am very eager to see what they bring. Could even be overlooked a bit.

My guess from having watched them both play a little is that CJ is currently overrated and Alex is underrated. CJ shot 18% from the high school three-point line. That’s not good for a small forward. He also had trouble scoring at the rim against the better teams that Montverde played. All of that being said, the kid is a team player, he’s got a good body, he can defend. So, I don’t see any reason why he cannot develop into a solid player. Let’s hope, the Condon comes back so that Tommy Haugh can start at the three. If not, it seems to me that we have a glaring weakness at the three.

    Hmm, good points.
That would make me think that, if Condo doesn't return, the likely scenarios are ...
    1) Chinyelu starts at the 5, Haugh at the 4, and A.J. Brown at the 3.
    2) Handlogten starts at the 5, Chinyelu at the 4, and Haugh at the 3 (backed up by A.J.). Mikic gets the sophomore jump and backs up both Handles and the Chins.
    3) Haugh starts at the 3 and backs up Mikic at the 4, while A.J. Brown backs up the 3.

We still have a lot to get settled over the next few weeks, personnel-wise.

Weakness perhaps as a backup, but if Condo doesn’t come back why not start Chins, Hands and Haugh in the frontcourt.

Could work, but yes still lots yet to settle. Wonder if that Spanish kid is in the mix too, seems he might be a bit raw still so may not contribute right away

I dunno, CTG said just a few days ago they were looking to add just one more player, and that would be a guard. I think they're pursuing Fabian for next season. We're definitely going to be adding more bigs after this season.

Did Brent Wright ever play at SF for us? That might be a good comp for Haugh.

Yeah we're likely have 3 even 4 departures...I know it'll be tough for Ollie to break into the rotation this season but man oh man am I looking forward to how he looks after another summer session...after watching this a couple weeks ago he looks a lot more mobile and has a nice touch within 6-8 feet. Can't think a single human outside an NBA all-star game could block him....just needs to work on his motor

    Agreed.
Great video. I think we open with Arizona in Las Vegas. Tough game away, and Ollie may not even get minutes. I kind of wish we opened with a middie in Gainesville. The first time he enters a game in the O-Dome, the place is gonna go nuts.
Sure hope we have a package for him. He's unique.

    Boogie Fland, come on down...

If that was my first name I'd change my last name from Fland to Land
Or go by Boogie Down Productions

Yes, he did a little, but never primarily and mostly as a freshman. He was a much better perimeter defender than Haugh, not quite as good of a rebounder or passer.

I think the closest comp we have to Tommy with recent Gators is Canyon Barry but Tommy is better at everything except for free throw shooting.
