He decommitted because he was scared of the our schedule and competing against DJ Lagway… so definitely a smart kid.

The kid sounds like he is his father's puppet.

Thats an odd comment. Lack of good parents that raise their kids right is probably the biggest detriment we have in society. This kid got it in spades. Possibly a bit overbearing but infinitely better than many parents. I know adults tgat were basically raised by nannies.

Agree Wanne, and I expect him to be a formidable opponent, when UF takes on Ole Miss, at the Grove.
They will be chomping at the bit for revenge. By the time the 15th of Nov. rolls around the kid will have plenty
of experience. (If he stays healthy). It "could" even have playoff implications for both teams.

I don't like Layne but it's hard to question his coaching abilities with QB's.

It's way early to be making predictions, but I think UF will be seriously challenged in this contest.

Dad seems a bit over the top to me. Ohtani comparison? Cmon.

That said, he could easily leave ole Miss with a masters if he wanted it. No idea what multi disciplinary studies are tho. Sounds pretty vague.

Huge gap for good parenting between those 2 extremes. Im not a control freak, and neither would reflect my value system but whatever works for you I guess.

    Id guess those
kids at Georgia wrecking cars have a slightly less better home life than the ones in an engineering program, it is what it is. Shitty parents have kids that are at a disadvantage in life. That kid at miami more than likely didnt get the same support that DJ did.

He was a HS grad at 16 and a college grad at 19. When he turned pro at 17, Ole’ Miss gave him the best money. Maybe we would have liked UF to have won the battle, but do not try and run the kid down.

    I looked it up
Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies (BMDS) | Ole Miss

Apparently you combine 3 minors of your choice and end up with a customized Bachelor's degree.

UCF maybe 30 years ago had a major called liberal studies. I think his is similar to that.

Nope, not an engineer, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t intelligent.

Hard to say, it all depends on what his 3 minors were in.
Ole Miss does offer minors in mathematics, engineering and physics.

The only thing I could find was a mention of sports medicine related to his degree.

Degrees don't measure intelligence, you are correct, but you need a smidge to just get by.

Don't think anyone here is running the kid down. Props to him for his academic success. Hope he has a great season at Ole Miss except for 1 game.

His academic achievement is VERY impressive. And he’s a great kid from a good family, from everything I’ve heard. Money changes people …sometimes, even the best of them.
