Thats what I said. The thing is banning twitter would also ban all of the reputable news and sports sources that use it. CNN has a multi layered X presence, for instance. X is its own beast that is harder for us to moderate.
I know. I said it can be bought. But again, X is often where real stories break. Many reporters break stories on X before their own outlets publish them. So X is i unique beast.
Agree. If it is a legitimate story you could use twitter as the main body but add a reputable link below it. I did it on the EO drug thread. Truth Social Body with an NBC link below.
do they not post at their own sites? allowing twitter and disqualifying accumulator sites like msn and yahoo that offer free reads to otherwise subscription services makes no sense
Allowing the accumulator sites is a way to get far right and far left media links in to start threads which is something that everyone was bitching about and we tried to stop the practice. So we don't allow those accumulator sites.
Given that is likely true (people using aggregators to hide shitty sources), it still makes zero sense to allow X as a primary source if the goal of that other rule is to use vetted information to start topics. I can see using X when it’s some crazy breaking event (mass shooting, plane crash, etc.). Before any real stories or factual article comes out it’s that or nothing, but even with that in mind the early stuff on social media is mostly just going to be a bunch of noise - especially if what is being reposted is random dipshits/bots rather than official accounts.
LOL! As if they are sitting in there doing coke like Tony Montana, right before everyone walks in. Maybe he didn’t want a crumpled tissue front and center in a photo&video of key political leaders that would be seen around the world.
