The market loss at least 30 days of potential gains due to Trump's incompetence. It still isn't that where we were before yet somehow we're winning? MAGA math is weird

How US tariffs on China have changed since Trump's first term

Interesting summary of the past 8 years of tariffs.

I really want to know, what did we gain? For years Trump, and Biden, and then Trump again raised tariffs, and China reciprocated, and now Trump lowered them, and China reciprocated — for 90 days. I’m getting dizzy. Is this what winning feels like?

Well if you plan for the market to go down and it foes down then you win. And if you plan for the market to go up and it goes up you also win.

Oh, so you are counting the contributions that would have happened regardless?

No, did a bunch of selling at the end of March and then jumped back in 2 weeks later

Well...then that distinction seems pretty unimportant...unless you are trying to make some ridiculous claim that you know how to time the market with your 401K (but, for some reason, only choose to use this power for a 401K rather than making billions timing the market with as much money as you can get your hands on from everybody wanting to outperform the market).

The Chinese see Trump as a modern day Chairman Mao, helping China to reach new heights while dismantling their largest enemy, the United States. Mao was a charismatic but incompetent leader for China, who promoted ignorant ideas that destroyed China's agriculture and almost killed half the country. China hopes that Dimwit Donald will do the same for the U.S. and American manufacturing.

So, Trumpers, tell us again about how Trump's tariffs will be a Great Leap Forward for the United States.

The Disturbing Rise of MAGA Maoism

Can the U.S. survive four years with this clown in charge? What will be left for the next president to clean up? Will we learn from our mistakes or double down on them?

That you recall the date with such ease confirms he's living rent-free inside your head.

China leadership green light to resume Boeing deliveries. Good for Americans workers and Boeing suppliers.

Would be nice to know why this was even a thing. Details…

Optimistic view. I haven’t seen anything that tells me Trump’s economic policies aren’t working on the psychology of Americans: self inflicted wounds blamed on the past leaders followed by ingratiated victories simply getting back to baseline.

This is a brilliant blueprint policy for Pubs. Pubs once again figured it out while Dems fumble around.

Dems can’t do simple math. They should take every move by Trump and have a calculator for the Average American to see the differences.

Well, people you vote for are the ones that always call CNN fake news. I guess it's not, in certain cases where you like their content?

How very convenient that is. :)

(Kinda like following the laws or Constitution ....... but only whenever it's convenient. )

All of Trump's trade war nonsense is like a dinner party guest who drops trou and takes a crap in the middle of the living room floor. Then he tells you that by cleaning it up, everyone is actually "winning."

Half of the group is wearing identical red hats, and they nod their heads approvingly while celebrating the great, magnificent win.

That’s what happens in a trade war.

It’s just like the soy beans. They obviously need our soybeans. But that is a crop they target in retaliation just to make U.S.. farmers suffer. I assume they know of Boeing issues, so similar to agriculture they choose that for symbolic reasons, like kicking them when they are down.

However unlike with an agricultural crop , it’s not like anything “rots”. Actually with Boeings issues it might not matter at all considering their issue is delivering planes… that they are behind on production. It’s not like China’s pause caused them to build up an unwanted inventory backlog. So in reality that one probably wasn’t all that economically painful, at least unless they started cancelling orders entirely. Boeings stock seems to reflect that since it didn’t wait for this “tariff pause” to recover. Boeing’s investors probably more worried about a plane falling out of the sky or being grounded over safety.

    100% Boeing has quality concerns.

Disagree on Boeing firm backlog. Boeing responded that China destination aircraft would be repurposed or sold elsewhere, which the market accepted and didn’t hammer the stock price. Firm backlog adjustments were made.

The supply chain disruptions and companies moving to other places was unnecessary. Now we are back to ok to use China. The whiplash is bizarre.
