Seems like its just the appearance of doing something. Like the order doesnt even attempt to make a legal case or cite any authority under law.

That’s how insurance always works including private insurance which often have low or zero co-pays for drugs depending on the plan. It’s all factored into the premium whether you use it or not. I assume his point is the true cost obviously isn’t $0 you paid out of pocket, it’s whatever the insurance paid out of its premium pool.

    I need to try this.

“I hereby decree I will always pay the lowest price, and I shall receive reimbursement any time someone pays a lower price”.

Now that this has been settled, I eagerly await my fat rebate check from Amazon.

I love how his supporters call the rest of us RINO's while he is implementing price controls.

Josh Shapiro has got to be loving this. He'll win in '28 in a walk if he can get through the primary.

I mentioned MOST FAVORED NATION STATUS when Trump 45 tried to implement it at the end of his first term... The first thing Biden did was kill it and then big pharma celebrated real price controls on drugs being sold to Americans.

This is a redo, and he's implementing it early enough for us all to see how much cheaper all of our medicines will come down in price. And yes that includes drugs like insulin and Ozempic among other far more expensive drugs

The real winner here is every single American that has to take/buy drugs just to live.

It's the pharmaceutical companies that are controlling the prices of drugs... NOT ANYMORE.

I’m all for a single-payer health care system, and so this sounds great. I’m not sure how MAGA explains away the philosophical inconsistencies, but on things like this, I don’t care.

My wife and I each have a few prescriptions. They’re all $0.
But one that was suggested for my wife was about $300 a month. The provider hadn’t realized how much it was and changed her mind
And I’ve heard of people really hit hard by drug prices. So if he can get some or all lowered, more power to him.

I am skeptical of how this gets implemented, or if there is really anything there to truly implement. What if the drug companies just say "no". Does trump bar them from selling drugs in the US? Can the president arbitrarily bad companies from doing business in the US, a supposed free market?

socializing the costs, living off the fat gubmnt check..you sure check a lot of socialist boxes

if everyone was healthier and got lower priced drugs, in theory everyone insurance would drop, even yours.

This entire concept and thread -really it's just the social media babblings of a senile buffoon- are almost definitely too ridiculous to even comment on.

I'm wondering if he's going to factor in prices on that penguin island into the average that he, ummmm, forces US companies to charge for researched, patented, marketed drugs.

Just totally laughable. Absurd. MAGA is probably eating it up.

It shouldn’t be a surprise though. It’s been clear for a long, long time these geniuses don’t actually understand economic theories.

Let’s assume both parties want to lower drug prices.

    - Republicans have argued for increasing competition, reducing insurance regulation and allowing consumers to assume more risk.

    - Democrats have argued for increasing government bargaining power and increased pooling of risk to provide more coverage to more people.

    - Trump is suggesting we ask drug companies to lower prices? Cool.

Who knew healthcare could be so easy?

Is America on the right track or the wrong track? Monday's drug price EO shouldn't hurt these numbers:

    Right track/Wrong track
    Early January 29%/62%
    Early May. 47%/47%

Looks like the Right Track/Wrong Track numbers are still improving. New from Rasmussen, just in this morning. From -33% in early January to +4% in early May.

The rest of the world has price controls. The US is no longer going to subsidize other countries drugs.

The pharmaceutical companies will have to find a way to get around price controls in other countries or the whole world will suffer together as research and development in the US will grind to a halt.

No, price controls aren't right or desirable, but the screwing of America for other countries to benefit must stop.

Why do you think it took so long for Trump to listen to Bernie Sanders? It's time for Trump to show if he really means it
