Doesn’t surprise me that Meyer (and various OSU figures) is involved in sleazy faith-based grifting but say it ain’t so Timmy.

Christianity is just a business, now ... Tebow got to pay the bills, too...

I don't know anything about this situation but I've always been in the minority of Gators fans regarding my perception of Tebow. Was a fan while he was here and have no reason to bash the guy but I always preferred Wuerffel as a person. I viewed him as Tebow without cameras, celebrity or vanity. Just my opinion

I have no issue with faith based teachings on how to manage money but that sounds like a high pressure sales job focused on generating income for the entity.

My main hope is that Tebow is just too dumb to realize what he's involved in

I don't think you're in the minority when it come to Gators who were around to see and know Wuerfel. Dude was and remains the real deal, as he has immersed himself in New Orleans ghetto for decades, walking the walk.

Not knocking TT, but the light of celebrity was always there, casting a shadow on (rather calling into question) his sincerity.

DW cast that off long ago. He just does not care about fame, while he lives for Jesus, and serves his community.

I love Tim and think he's 95% genuine in everything he does and says. Which is more than most of us probably, and he does walk the walk. But I also know for a fact maybe 5% of him is a show.

Agree with this although if we are talking arbitrary percentages im probably going to give a few more percentage points. All of that is fine as well, where I struggle to accept complete authenticity is where vanity and excess somewhat contradict the messages. Its fine to marry a beautiful girl but a pageant queen it had to be for example. Charge and make money on speaking engagements but how firm are you on your price?

Perhaps the best way to learn financial literacy is to be fleeced like a sucker ... maybe its kind of a "school of hard knocks" thing

Yeah--measuring him against Wuerfel is the problem. Stack anyone against DW, and it's pretty much unfair.

Against the rest of the world, TT is awesome.

Nah, once religion gets involved, they just tell them it's their fault that the prosperity gospel didn't work for them ... they need to pray harder and give more money. That was even outlined a bit in that article. If $997 class on getting rich didn't work for you, then you need to take the $14,000 class ... so many people get sucked into this crap. I get that Tebow may need the money but Meyer? Just disgusting...

Life Surge functions as a nationwide tour with fixed headliners, ranging from Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, Donald Trump’s former press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, the “top-podcast host” who thinks he gets 21 days in a week in Ed Mylett, and Nick Vujicic, the limbless Australian Evangelical and self-described “No. 1 motivational speaker in the world.”

I don't think Tebow 'needs' the money either, unless ESPN and all those commercials aren't paying him well. Also there is something a little off about a Christian chasing any dollar he can.
