US China Trade agreement reached-

China once again “agreed” to match whatever tarriff number Trump spewed out with their own tarriffs, which is now 10% for 90 days…. Which is what they were doing the whole time…. That is not what Trump wanted at all. Trump wants the US to have higher tariffs because he wants to rebalance trade. Trump surrendered in the trade war… nothing was gained.

 

It’s hard for a person not in the weeds of tariffs to follow, but I’m pretty sure with this 90 days 30% rate, China now has lower tariffs than Japan, Vietnam, and a bunch of other Asian countries. So if anything China now has an edge.

Don’t get me wrong, I doubt any business who had already shifted factories to Vietnam or Cambodia or even India would consider going back to China even if it’s rates are now lower (temporarily), but companies still doing bizness w/China now have a temporary 10-20% advantage. It’s just an illustration how messed up this whole thing is.

 

There are real issues with China. China does not uphold intellectual property agreements. China does run phone rooms that commit identity fraud in the us(shown on 60 minutes last night). These are the issues we should be primarily be dealing with but no, Trump does this tariff nonsense instead.

See the difference is Maga pisses itself when Trump "declares" a win but in actuality it's nothing but a "concept of a win". As of now he's basically lost on everything he ran on.

 

He literally negotiated a pause to a trade war he created in the first place and you’re calling it a win. It’s not, not even close.

 

Can you outline the gains from this deal? Is it the lower tariffs rates, which are still much higher than they previously were on both sides?
