Clearly these guys need more 'storming' instruction. I mean, this is pretty weak.

Yep, but it got the reaction that they were looking for with the arrest. It isn't like these same folks will show back up here to admit their mistakes if the charges are dropped or thrown out.

If the charges are dropped it is because they were democrats in a democrat city. You gotta wonder why the congresswoman who was clearly seen pushing police officers around was not arrested.

And this is why they don't care about accuracy. The city didn't arrest him. He was arrested on federal charges. But you created a useful narrative for yourself already in anticipation.

You do understand that there are murderers, gang members and child rapist held in the facility this mayor and these congressmen/women tried to illegally enter don't you? They were risking not only their lives but the lives of the public should they have made a mistake that would have caused one or more of the illegals to get loose.

The Mayor of Newark accompanied members of Congress who had the right to visit federally operated facilities. As far as he is concerned he had already departed from the premises of facility and was actually arrested outside of the facility. Since you're obviously trying to draw an analogy between what happened in New Jersey and events of January 6th, neither the mayor nor the members of Congress tried to prevent Congress from performing a governmental function and unlike the J6 former "hostages" they violently assault law enforcement officers/

How many law enforcement officers were assaulted by mayor and the members of Congress when they visited the facility? Just asking.

    A. The DHS isn't even trying to claim that the Congresspeople illegally entered. They have substantial leeway to tour federal facilities (including private prisons housing federal prisoners).
    B. The rest of this is fanciful. If the federal government is trying to hold all these horrible prisoners and the facility is so easily defeated as this even would allow people to break out of it, then we would need answers as to why we would want this facility in the middle of a highly populated area. I highly doubt just about every element of this claim.

The reality is that they are going to have a tough time proving the case, since their argument for why it was trespassing is that he ignored warnings to go to the public area when they allowed the Congressional Reps. inside, and, then, they had to follow him out to the public area (suggesting that he abided by the command) in order to arrest him.

I was an inspector for 25 years. Not once was I or any other inspectors I know of accompanied by our mayor or county commissioners....It's not done that way. This was nothing but politicians putting on a show and endangering others. There are procedures to do what they did, yes congressmen have a right to investigate things but not on their own forcing their way in. You follow proper procedure, to trespass or try to rush into somewhere you have no right to be is just as illegal for congressmen as for anybody.

So a mayor can’t go to a location he governs over? Remember. Not always going to be GOP in charge. These precedents don’t get put back in the cage

I deeply respect the importance you place on safety, procedure, and, um, not endangering others.

Now do January 6th, please. :)

So a mayor can enter any ICE or any other federal facility without permission?
A building that is rented by a federal government agency is generally considered a government building, or more specifically, a federal facility, particularly if it's being used for official government business. This applies whether the building is owned or leased by the government.

A mayor can't enter a federal facility...... but thousands of tourists violently protesting fake election fraud can.
