I dont think he's actually 'woker.' He does seem like a consolidation pick of the work Francis was doing, but the NYT profile from before he was elected portrayed him as sort of a moderating force. Seems like he will keep the church on its current course but probably not go far beyond Francis with reforms and such. But the JD Vances of the world arent going to like him.

 

This will likely cause a schism with New York Catholics over what this guy probably considers pizza. They will seek leadership from Pierbattista Pizzaballa.
