He will only go pro if he gets a first round grade in the combine. If he was confident of that, he wouldn't be spending so much time with college coaches. He knows he's on the bubble.

Joakim was a NYC boy. How’d things work out for him in Gainesville?

That's my point. Kansas ain't Florida.

Where did Chris Harry write about Golden making a visit? Nothing on Twitter.

rserina - Well Southeastern 16 and other pod-casters are "buzzing" about a BF and UF marriage.
Pretty exciting if true. Don't know how you feel about his fit at UF but some talking heads think it would be a big deal.

He felt unattainable when he hit the portal. If we actually land him Elite 8 Final 4 talk is warranted. It’s hard to go back to back but he would give us a real shot.

Not denying that, but I just hadn't seen Chris mention this.

On Fland, he is much more talented than Claude and has more upside. As to fit, hard to say. Another ball dominant guard that has a little redundancy with Lee, but the way we play our guards, it can work if Fland shoots as well as he did in the non-conference slate (36% on almost 4 attempts per game).

As someone who spent time at both UF and KU, let me say that Lawrence is pretty comparable to Gainesville. There's not much going on in Kansas outside Lawrence, but I suspect Fland wouldn't be spending much time in Goodland or WaKeeney. You can have a lovely time in Lawrence, I promise.

Well based on shooting % alone that would be a push for Fland.
Claude seems to struggle from three but gets to the FT line ALOT.

Of course the $$$ may be the determining factor between the two. I have no idea what kind of $ Claude is asking for but speculation is Fland is looking for a strong bag.

Interesting that folks are talking about up to 3 mil NIL yet Aberdeen reportedly left UF for 2 mil NIL. I haven't a clue whether the amounts being tossed about are accurate, but I am left baffled.

Claude gets to the line darn near twice as much as Fland, but his turnover rate is twice as high as Fland's, his perimeter shooting is already much better (and likely to improve), and he can play both on or off the ball. There is also at least a possibility he could play more than one year with us.

I was not very comfortable with the Claude take--not that he isn't a good player, but because he was not a good fit. Fland is both a better player (at least minimally, at this stage, with a chance to be much better) and a much better fit with Lee. Wish I could think of a good analogy, but I can't find one in Golden's resume or at Florida recently. . Both Lee and Fland are best on the ball, but can also shoot a little off of it. Fland can cover Lee a little defensively, and he is much better at the rim, off the dribble, and in transition.

Maybe his scoring game is like Martin's, but he is a better shot creator. Would replace Aberdeen in terms of being a secondary ballhandler, good spot up shooter or dribble penetrator/scorer, and on ball defender, only with elite vision and open court speed. I could even see a world in which he slides over to the one as a junior, if he were to stay.

At a very basic level, if you think Fland is a better player than Aberdeen, then it makes sense that you're willing to pay him more than you were willing to pay Denzel.

To be clear, I also have no idea if the numbers are accurate.
