If I’m Walton, I’m getting them back to gainseville asap to let them rest and get ready for the playoffs, Where a loss actually hurts you. This tournament doesn’t mean anything compared to the next few weeks.

Yep. Because of Earl Weaver's favorite play, the 3-run HR.

Why? Is there a new batting coach? Pitching coach?

More practice at taking pitches? I wish we would actually practice swinging the bat more. LOL.

We’ll need the bats to get hot and stay hot to make a big run in the tournament. Unfortunately, I think our pitching is what it is at this point. We have two decent pitchers that can keep the opponent to 3-4 runs or less, but we don’t have an ace that’s gonna go out and throw a shut out or win a pitcher’s duel against the better lineups we might face in a WCWS field. I keep hoping Keagan can get “back” there but I don’t think that’s gonna happen this year.

Exactly. No one wants to lose, but this is meaningless in the big picture. This team has to be gassed after such a difficult closing stretch. Get home and get ready for regionals

This team just doesn't make adjustments against good pitching, why? because we don't have a batting coach that knows how to make adjustments. I am begining to believe the same thing about the pitching coach. She just doesn't have it any more after a losing stint as a head coach.

I agree…that first pitch to Otis was right down the pipe…could maybe have been hit a mile.

A lot of pitches were right down the pipe for these players and no one ever swung smh. Disappointing.

Pitching coach and hitting coach can only do so much. They can’t get up there and throw the pitches or swing the bat for them. If a pitcher misses their spot, it’s not the pitching coaches fault. Just like if a hitter swings at a bad pitch.. it’s not the hitting coaches fault.

I don’t know what went down with Chelsea Dobbins leaving the program after only one season, but I thought she did a hell of a job last year with only two reliable freshman arms. And she had a great work ethic. You would see her in the stands charting every pitch and scouting our next opponent during the entire postseason. SVBP has the accolades coming in but the jury is still out. I’ve never been a fan of Aric Thomas. I wish we would go get one of Gasso’s sons to run our offense. Look at what the younger one is doing for Arkansas this year.

A good batting coach that understands good pitiching sees ways to adjust the batters stance, stand a little more to the front or back or a little closer to the plate. I good pitching coach finds out why the pitcher is missing her spots and helps her to correct the problem,
