RPI tries to equalize for home win rate, which overestimates home advantage because good programs both win more and can spend more to give "guarantees" to weak program cannon fodder. IMO, the home/away factor is overrated by about a factor of two (is 1.3/0.7, should be 1.15/0.85).

I also agree the USF will have essentially zero factor on selection day if the Gators end up with 12 or 13 SEC wins (do they even get in?), little factor if they get 14 (2 or 3 seed), and a bit of a factor if they go 15-15 on getting a 15 or 16 host seed. (Frankly, I'd rather take my chances as a 2-on-the-road vs. be sorted to a super against a 1 or 2. The goal isn't Omaha. The goal is second Natty.)

USF played well especially on defense. The only bright spot for UF was Jenkins. He did his job and maybe will get some more appearances down the stretch.

I thought that Rodriguez was decent on the bump.

Added in edit: And Barlow was solid for the few guys that he faced. I think Sully gave him a "live action" midweek bullpen before the big series at the new UT in the SEC.

I think that was Sully’s intention for everyone that threw last night.

Well if you're gonna nit pick sure, but might as well throw in Rowland also then. He pitched 2 inn and gave up no runs. Where has he been all year?

No runs with 7 Ks in 2 and 2/3 for Jenkins is most impressive to me especially given his season to date.
