The wealthy in this nation have you snowed. We are barely average for 1st world nations. You are better off in Canada, our new motherland. Our new President hails from the least mobile place on earth South Africa and even that is too much mobility for black folks for him. He thinks whites need to flee.
Canadian cities, especially Toronto, are in the grips of a paralyzing housing crisis. You would-be political refugees would be living here …
You mean the richest man on the planet came over to the US, a child of pedestrian means, made a fortune on the US, lost it, and rebuilt-- in the US--to become the RMOFO OTP, twice over... in. The. U.S. Yeah, that guy. So. Africa had nothing to do with anything, other than the source of the misery that hardened his ass to shoot right past 300+ million soft Americans, twice.
It’s a remedial debate tactic when you can’t back up with facts and figures to grab some random anecdote. Because Bill Gates is rich it must be easy even though the percentage of losers in the US is higher than other first world countries isn’t remotely debatable. You lose.
You seem to be talking about Elon Musk although your biography of him is a work of fiction. Musk came from an affluent South African family, not exactly a child of pedestrian means and giving him credit where credit is due he has always been successful and did not lose a fortune. This how Musk acquired his fortune, he never suffered a loss: Musk was born to an affluent South African family in Pretoria before immigrating to Canada, acquiring its citizenship from his mother. He moved to California in 1995 to attend Stanford University, and with his brother Kimbal co-founded the software company Zip2, that was later acquired by Compaq in 1999. That same year, Musk co-founded X.com, a direct bank, that later formed PayPal. In 2002, Musk acquired U.S. citizenship, and eBay acquired PayPal. Using the money he made from the sale, Musk founded SpaceX, a spaceflight services company, in 2002. In 2004, Musk was an early investor in electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla and became its chairman and later CEO. This is from the bio of Elon's father, not exactly middle class. Musk studied electromechanics at the University of Pretoria, worked as an electrical and mechanical engineering consultant, and developed properties,[2] especially retail and office property development.[8]: 27 His lucrative engineering business took on "large projects such as office buildings, retail complexes, residential subdivisions, and an air force base." He also owned an auto parts store, at least half a share in an emerald mine, and even "one of the biggest houses in Pretoria"[8][18] In 1979, Musk and wife Maye divorced.[10][19] Maye's book recalls that at the time of the divorce, he owned two homes, a yacht, a plane, five luxury cars, and a truck.[20]
He was on verge of disaster, leveraged, and all but broke in 2008. Billionaire Elon Musk on 2008: "The worst year of my life" - CBS News ...and his family struggled financially. Mom working multiple jobs when they arrived in Canada--dad claims to have owned an emerald mine in SA, but prolly just shares, and zero proof has emerged to back up the claim of daddy owning a mine. https://www.technology.org/how-and-why/are-elon-musks-parents-rich/ Hence 'pedestrian' (note i did not say impoverished, or destitute, or anything similar. Just pedestrian--as in nothing of note). Graduated from Queens college $100,000 in debt. "...his parents couldn't afford to pay his college....". Dude's special. Yall should just tip your damn hat to his greatness and take pride in him as a fellow American, rather than slinging mud at him, bc you despise his politics. (Like I do wrt to Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Buffett, Steve Jobs, Taylor Swift, Tom Hanks, and countless other successful, but politically outspoken folks. What they do to make a name for themselves, is not undone by what they chose to do with their platform/ influence).
We'd just invade and make a mess of the Dems in all of those states... AND THE DEMS IN CANADA. So... nice try.
I'd love to see them try to take those states. Do that, we nuke Toronto and Montreal and turn a 20 mile radium of both cities into a parking lot. Tell them they surrender, give us the states back PLUS Alberta, Saskatchewan, Mantioba and Nova Scotia just for the heck of it as penalty. They get 48 hours, if not then Vancouver and Ottawa are nuked. They'll surrender and we'll get more territory.
I'm sorry but at this point screw Canada. Out of the U.S. - Canada relationship, Canada has been getting by far the better deal. Now that the U.S. actually wants to discuss this deal and maybe make it slightly more equal, Canada is crying like babies. Heck the U.S. is doing far worse to Mexico right now and they aren't acting like babies at all. If I was in power I would be more inclined to work with Mexico right now than Canada. What Canada is doing is acting like the younger brother spoiled brat who is used to always getting their way. It's maybe time for big brother (U.S.) to put little brother (Canada) in its place. Trump considered placing some tariffs, yes. If Canada wanted to retaliate with tariffs, I would understand. But Canada is trying to do this entire economy boycott of the U.S. which is both silly and infuriating. It's like if two friends had an argument because the one friend (the U.S.) thinks that maybe their friend is taking them for granted. And instead of the other friend talking it out, he threatens to burn down their house. Canada is the one being the aggressor here. Canada is the one playing the dangerous game. Even for a lot of Americans who hate Trump, if you start trying to economically attack America, you will bring a lot of Americans together against you. I'm not saying we're at that point yet but if Canada continues it could. Since so many of you here think Trump's supporters are members of a cult, then you know how cult members will blindly follow what the cult leader says. So if you actually believe that Trump supporters truly act like a cult, then you know all it will take is Trump saying "don't buy Canadian, don't vacation in Canada" and they will follow him immediately. I know for me I won't buy any beers from Molson Coors, so no Molson, Coors, Miller or Blue Moon. No Canadian Syrup, honestly American made Syrup in Ohio and Vermont are better anyway. No Tim Horton's. No poutine (honestly found poutine to be kind of overrated). No Air Canada. And any travel to Canada for me in on hold currently. And yes I am planning an Alaskan cruise in 2026 or 2027 and was going to visit Vancouver and Victoria with it. I'll still do the Alaskan cruise but am seriously considering cutting out the Vancouver and Victoria parts of the trip. Maybe replacing those parts with a visit to Mt. Rainier and the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. Canadians like to think they can hurt the U.S. with an economic and tourism boycott. Sure, maybe it would sting a little bit. But it would be smart for Canadians to remember that a U.S. economic and tourism boycott of Canada would utterly crush Canada. And in case you're wondering, 77 percent of tourists to Canada come from the United States. Very few people from Europe or Asia or South America are coming to North America to visit Canada. If they do, it's typically in combination with a trip to the U.S. The U.S. can crush Canada anytime it wants. If Trump really wanted to hurt Canada, all he would have to do it close the border, ban any Canadian products from coming into the U.S. and banning all non-essential travel to Canada (just like we do with Cuba). The Canadian economy would completely collapse within weeks and Canada would go into a deep depression. Canadians needs to remember this. Canada needs the U.S. far more than the U.S. needs Canada. If this is how Canada acts as a "friend", maybe they were never truly a friend. Some friends can be two-faced, and maybe Canada is good at being a two-faced "friend".
You’re an objectively terrible person. Every post serves as further confirmation of your bankrupt moral compass and complete lack of empathy or reason. Isn’t there a 4chan location for you to hang out?
The stupidity of this continues to embarrass the US on a national stage. I guess, Trump wants to expand like Putin . Just crazy
The 51st state comments are to rile up the libs. Trump does not want them voting in our elections. He wants a bilateral agreement with Canada. It will include the border, military options in N. Canada and oil. Canada will have to bend the knee.
It certainly worked, as it tanked support for the conservative party in Canada lol and lost them the most winnable election they've had for years. 4D chess we cant comprehend I guess.
So bringing it up with the Canadian PM, in Public, repeatedly, is to own the libs? From weekend at Bernie’s to a carnival show…..smdh
Trump is senile. He really thinks he'll make his mark on History by expanding US territory. This isnt a distraction. He's a moron in the highest degree.
That's quite a defense that Trump supporters seem to have created. Whenever Trump says something particularly idiotic, he's just doing it to own the libs. And if you're bothered in the least by whatever stupid or even potentially illegal thing he suggests, that's just because you're triggered. Actually, if you even discuss Trump in any way other than to praise him, then you obviously have TDS.
Why would this be surprising? It’s completely on brand for them. For instance, Trump has stated he believes all the “good” parts of the economy are his and all the “bad” parts Biden’s.
