The link below is @ 12 minutes. I have considered the sluggishness on some downs to be poor execution. This guy has an interesting take.
Speaking of practice, I wonder how much the indoor practice facility has hurt our home field advantage. We used to dominate teams when they would come to the swamp and many wins weren’t because of spurrier’s wizardry. In a lot of cases, we just physically beat them in the heat because we were superiorly conditioned. Now, if it’s too hot to practice we go inside. In the 90s, I find it unlikely a player 450 lbs could make it through the grueling outdoor two a days. I know we have to be careful because of all the rules now but I believe it has made a difference. Our home record isn’t what it used to be. I wonder what percentage of practice is held inside now.
I have wondered that as well. I think the heat was a factor in our 90s dominance. Not the ONLY factor, of course. But the disparities in our home vs. away winning % suggest the heat was part of it.
Interesting. But were our losses because we were exhausted or more our staff didn't have the right players(Grantham) or we failed to execute and coach during games?
Someone on another site mentioned Soft bosses always have soft employees. The comment seems to have some merit just based n coach own admissions. Hopefully we have everything ready to grind some cane.
3rd and distance comes down to how good youre qb is at getting the ball down the field. Obviously we have struggled mightily but Lagway made some progress. Hopefully having his legs this year will loosen up some of that coverage too.
