Maybe. But after a visit I first assume a prospect is not a good fit. Which might also mean asking price goes up too much between scheduling a visit and completing it.
Haha. No ill will toward the kid, but this is probably for the best (even if I had talked myself into it by Friday!).
Roster/scholarship limits in the 4 main conferences have to be finalized in all sports. Once the conferences agree and report back to the NCAA, the settlement will go into effect on July 1, 2025, limits will be binding and hard. Men's Basketball will likely have a 15-roster/scholarship limit. Women's Gymnastics will likely have a 20-roster/scholarship limit. Name your sport and you can find what was originally proposed. The roster/scholarship numbers are basically fait accompli.
It is possible, it is just that it doesn't fit the chronology. I think he would have announced that he is no longer interested in us in order to save face (and we would have allowed it). Methinks he has an incompetent agent. Welcome to the new reality! Both us and him. And if he realizes this sooner rather than later, he can magically get some religion and embrace The Golden Way. We shall see.
Not settled, but apparently the parties are in general agreement on the final terms. The judge said, hey, let's add this and that, but the others said, "Not good," so she's backing off. Her final ruling is due by July 1.
Some of the interesting complexities (that had not occurred to me before reading the article) are that many of the non-big-revenue sports split their scholarships among multiple players, so that they can complete a 40-person roster by awarding partial scholarships. Lots to consider.
What I find funny is this same guy was sapmming all over the place a few days ago with "groundbreaking" news that Florida was 'picking up steam," but you had to pay to read that. Now today, we get this. They're Off3 for good reasons. LOL!
How does this whole portal thing work? Does it open and slam shut, and the athletes have to declare and get their transfer application in during that window? Can the process of actual search and selection continue once the portal closes?
Saw an article that said if scholarship limits go up to 15, Kentucky, which is now maxed at 13, would be interested. Guess the former basketball blue blood of the SEC will try to poach anyone in whom the national champions show interest!
