My guess. And I hate guesses like this since there is no way for me to get inside of her head. I think Tim tried to use her as a closer and it didn't work particularly well and she has the typical "freshman lost confidence." I think she needs to start and work through it. We need her this year but if that doesn't happen, I'm not worried. She has a ton of talent and potential. It will come sooner or later.
Makes sense. It looks like going to the post season, it's going to be a lot of Rothrock and Brown going 3-4 innings at a time. But I do think Oxley will get her opportunities, as will Hammock.
Could be. That might be coming back on a different account. Sweatpotato said something to that effect. In any event, this is the last guy we should waste more time on.
Six of the seven teams in front of us in the polls last week lost at least one game over the weekend. TX -0, Ark -1, FSU -1, OR -1, OK -2, Tenn -2, A&M -2. Be interesting to see where these pollsters put the Gators. I predict 4th.
Senior Day... and KARA did well. Did you hear Ava's and Taylor's comments on Kara's start. They both were happy and so very proud of her.
I’m not sure what the selection committee uses to make picks but I’m sure there is some flexibility. And so, the dirty word arises, POLITICS. With that in mind, I would not be surprised to see both UF and ARK thrown under the bus. I think the National seeds will come from the following teams, Ok, aTm, Tex, Tenn, FSU, OR, UCLA, TT and Az. It will be hard to choose UCLA, and they love them, without Or. Also hard to ignore the Big 12.
With our metrics, we should safely be a top 8 seed. We have #2 RPI, #1 SOS. We can be as high as #1 and i don't see us lower than #6. TT and Arizona are in the running to be top 16 seeds, but they will not be top 8 seeds. The big 12 as a whole is not good at all, plus they do not have the metrics to be top 8 seeds. I HIGHLY doubt the committee will give either one a top 8 seed. Only one of Oregon and UCLA will probably be a top 8 seed. I do think the committee would want a west coast team to host supers. They both lack metrics so I think either can be the #8 seed.
see post 11,253 - OU - SEC regular season champion is 1 seed no matter what happens in SEC tourney which yields SEC automatic bid.
I disagree. Had we not jsut took the series from them then sure. If we win the tournament I'd bet we go no 1. If A&M wins the tournament they go no. 1. Same for OU. Our resumes are really similar with OU having fewer losses, but a much lower SOS. Listening right now to Eric Lopez talking about it and he said the same thing. If any of those 3 win the tournament they're no. 1. ****This being said I don't really care for us to be 1 lol. Don't know that we want that target.
If these girls win four in a row in four consecutive days to win the SEC Championship it would be an amazing and almost impossible feat. If this happens the NCAA should cancel their tournament and give the title to Florida. Go Gators
Lol good practice for WCWS as always. We did it last year. No reason we can't do it again. One thing thst makes me really excited for this post season is we have all the experience from last year on what is still a young teams.
We will be a top 8.....and rest assured other schools will complain it's politics because we have 10 conference losses
I know you don't like Oklahoma, neither do I. However, the regular season champion of the #1 RPI conference and 4 time defending national champion deserves the #1 overall seed. UF winning 2 of 3 from the sooners meant more to the Gators than them. It will likely be the difference in being a 3/4 seed or a 7/8 seed. Arkansas is probably saying we beat the Gators 2 of 3 on their field so give us the higher seed. Texas beat UF 2 of 3 on our field too, same chirping. Then there is the matter of Duke run ruling the Gators 9-0 in Gainesville. Bottom line, staying home until the WCWS is the big deal.
