Well, yep. And as little as five years ago any of those eight or more would be considered almost unbeatable. The difference between then and now is almost unfathomable. The quality of elite players scattered throughout the country is just off the charts. It is a crap shoot. Whoever gets the hottest and gets the most breaks will win it. Not a clue who that will be.
Agree - We are a lock for a Top 8 seed even if we go 1 and done in the SEC tournament, IMO. SOS & RPI, plus finishing the regular season with a series win against #1 Oklahoma sealed the deal.
He came on here after the loss in game 1 still crying over censorship and acting as if everyone who disagrees with him own him an apology or something. I don’t see his comments anymore so he either deleted the account or got banned again. he’ll probably come back running next gator loss spouting the same nonsense.
If Kendra doesn't make the cut for one of the top ten players in the country there is no tea in China. This girl is fantastic. She is the best centerfielder to have ever played for the Gators and she might be the best defensive centerfielder ever in the history of college softball.
Predictions for Top 16 National Seeds Pre-Conference Tournaments: 1. Oklahoma-----------16. Texas Tech 2. Texas A&M----------15. Virginia Tech 3. Florida State--------14. Oregon 4. Florida---------------13. Clemson 5. Tennessee-----------12. Duke 6. Arkansas-------------11. Arizona 7. Texas---------------- 10. South Carolina 8. UCLA------------------9. LSU Oregon is the odd ball team. The polls love the Ducks, but the metrics don't. The Ducks are 16 in RPI, 15 in KPI, and are 60 in SOS. UCLA has far better metrics than Oregon. Given this, I have UCLA as a top 8 seed and Oregon outside the top 8 in the top 16. The B1G is the 4th best conference based on the RPI. I don't think the B1G will command two top 8 seeds. The metrics like Florida over Florida State, but the nolies beat UF 4-0 in Tallahassee so I'm giving the higher seed nod to Florida State. A larger pool of teams is vying for slots 9-16. I have Texas Tech at 16 because of NiJaree Canady, likely the best pitcher in collegiate softball. The team most likely to bump Texas Tech from the top 16 is Stanford. For me, it's basically a coin flip for these two teams. However, that would leave the 3rd best RPI conference with only 1 team in the top 16. If I'm on the committee, I'm arguing for Texas Tech. By Conference RPI: 1. SEC - 8 2. ACC - 4 3. Big 12 - 2 4. B1G - 2 By moving teams around a slot or two, I avoided regular season and same conference matchups. Texas and South Carolina are matched up, but they did not play in the SEC regular season.
The Gator Way Senior Day. Up by a few runs, but this is Oklahoma and no lead is safe. Critical Game #2 after dropping the opener. One out -- 9 hole to bat. It would be good to turn the lineup over with just one out. Keeps the sac fly option available plus some leeway to get a rally going with our big bats due up. Due up Calahan -- .308 average Replaced by Barnard .133 average As a senior, probably Barnard's last chance to bat in her softball carear. Against Oklahoma, no less. Makes me proud to be a Gator softball fan. Hat's off to CTW.
Honestly if we win the SEC Tourney which would at the very least include a win over Texas we would have a big shot at 1 seed.
I hate that OU won the conference, but we didn't let them go out on a high note. And I love the fact that they lost the 3 series against the SEC blueboods. Us, Bama, and UT. Had Texas just managed to win one....or if us or Bama had gotten the sweeps we almost did against OU.
Not buying. 14-10 SEC doesn't get rewarded with the overall. Thinking 4 seed regardless of SEC tourney. UF has already made its bed.
What's up with Red? Probably our most important series of the season and we hardly see her. Hammock as a starter against Oklahoma? Didn't have that one on my bingo card. Red got clobbered at LSU, but before that seemed to be doing pretty well. Is this a demotion? Injury thing? Doghouse thing?
That might be it. He would just pull crap out of the air with nutso criticisms. Jocey throws bad even though the shortstops blew two excellent throws. The Auburn catcher is cheating. Taylor was an underperforming at the same time she was piling up rbis. It went on and on. Just a couple examples. And then he would attack you for disagreeing with him. I really think he was just a troll who hid it fairly well.
