2 way to the left guvment funded media outlets who are nothing more than shills for the dem party - needed to happen long before now Trump signs order to cut funding to PBS and NPR — POLITICO
NPR and PBS have been around for 50+ years obviously under presidents from both parties. How are these left funded media outlets?
What's funny is I actually stopped listening to NPR because I thought they were trying too hard to be balanced and giving credence to some weird maga stuff. And Elmo teaches kids about being inclusive. Can't have that.
They literally just had Rufo and Bannon on the other day. If they lost government funding, they probably would actually lib out, because they would just serve donors at that point.
Me, whenever Ken Burns drops a new banger documentary. The American Revolution comes out this year I believe.
Quit listening to NPR 20 years ago due to liberal bias. Defunding this group is fine with me. I also haven't watched PBS for news in the same time frame and for the same reason. I do occasionally watch the old Lawrence Welk Shows, still entertains after all of these years. It's like digging up a time capsule. Bottom line both are biased to the left and don't deserve public funding.
you act like that matters - it has nothing to do with the fact that they are still guvment funded liberal propoganda
They're only partially government funded and although they do lean left both are rated highly in terms of credibility.
Saw this on the news this morning. I think they said NPR gets 1% of its funding from the fed, PBS is not that low but like 5% or something. They do lean left but it's not a big deal. They aren't going anywhere.
I remember when, under a previous push to cut funding for PBS, Fred Rogers testified in front of Congress on the importance of public access television, with the result being that Congress actually increased federal funding. That's a moment, IMO, that defined when we were a great nation.
Where it will have the most effect are the local PBS programming shows. Things that are on the local University's public channels. I don't think it would affect things like This Old House or Antiques Roadshow. There are limited local shows on NPR that might get affected like the all night jazz or opera programming.
<-------- This guy. Nova, several Masterpiece shows (currently Wolf Hall), Ken Burns documentaries, Austin City Limits.
People would be much happier if they stopped looking at the world and everything through a stupid Left/Right prism.
