Those dirty Japs just woke up angry one morning.

And it doesn’t seem that nukes have dissuaded the US for a second. For over three years it’s been like, “Putin is a madman sitting astride the largest nuclear arsenal on the planet! Push! Push! PUSH!!!”

We're just getting a little payback for the U.S. pilots that Russia shot down during the Korean War. We did not ask Putin to put his foot in it and invade Ukraine--that's on him. And no, nobody with multiple working brain cells believes that the U.S. "forced" Russia to invade Ukraine, and nobody believes that Russia did it because Ukraine had Nazis (led by a Jewish president).

Zelenskyy believes that Russia may be about to invade Ukraine from Belarus, using military drills in Belarus as cover. Putin may be getting a little desperate and taking some chances to try to end this war favorably to Russia. Or he may be using it as a diversion. Knowing Trump, he would just brush it off and say that Putin was a military genius. Hopefully, the swampy land on the Belarus border is just as unpassable (from beavers damming up the rivers) as it was when the war started. If Russia gets bogged down in swampy land, they may get torn apart without air support.

The Russians use the term Nazi differently than we do. We use it to mean the regime run by hitler that lost WWII. Russia uses it to mean enemy of Russia, more of a generic term.

I'm not sure you can make such a generalization. Lots of people use it generically as a term for authoritarian bad guys (Americans called Saddam the next Hitler), and the Russians also use it against the Ukrainians specifically because of some Ukrainian's collaboration with the Nazis (including forming SS units) against Russia during the war.

Probably doesnt help that the West took in lots of the Nazi Ukrainians too (and Nazis in general - Operation Paperclip):

Yeah, I hear it used in the US to denote authoritarianism. That’s the underlying understanding of the Seinfeld Soup Nazi.

Ukrainian drones destroy S-400 radar station in occupied Crimea (photo)

In the Russian-occupied Crimea, near the city of Saky, a radar station of the S-400 Triumf anti-aircraft missile system was destroyed, according to the Telegram channel Crimean Wind.

According to the monitoring channel, back on Friday, April 25, unknown drones severely damaged and possibly completely disabled the 96L6E radar.

Lindsay Graham says he has veto proof support for additional sanctions against Russia

Going to embarrass dear leader in front of his mentor?

500% tariffs on anyone that buys oil and gas from Russia...that has teeth...

Bipartisan senators introduce primary, secondary Russia sanctions

Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) introduced legislation on Tuesday seeking to impose primary and secondary sanctions against Russia if it does not agree to long lasting peace with its neighboring country, Ukraine.
The two were joined by a group of 50 lawmakers who agreed to support sanctions on Russia in addition to a 500 percent tariff on imported goods from countries that buy Russian oil, gas, uranium and other products if efforts to end the war are not advanced.

For those wondering what’s taking Russia so long, war is hard …

Today, April 30, 2025 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the final, definitive defeat of the U.S. military crusade in Vietnam. The images of U.S. helicopters desperately flying American diplomats and Washington’s high-level South Vietnamese collaborators from the roof of the U.S. embassy in Saigon effectively captured not only the chaotic environment, but also the extent of Washington’s overall policy debacle. The outcome of the war was a humiliating defeat for the United States in every respect. Vietnam’s reunification under a communist government was now an indisputable reality. Indeed, the United States finally succumbed to the pressure to establish diplomatic relations with that government in 1995.

Ukraine gets their Swedish AWACS..jets that will operate at high altitude and allow the f-16's to see much further out. At $500M per, they better come with some good electronics..

hopefully this is the next step int he use of more offensive air power

Sweden blinds Russian forces and provides a major asset to the Ukrainians

Ukraine has just made a new purchase, and it's a significant one: two Swedish ASC 890 aircraft. A weapon that could be a turning point in the conflict.

This Tuesday, it was announced by the Ukrainian media Euromaidan that the Swedes have committed to delivering two ASC 890 aircraft to Volodymyr Zelensky's armed forces. This is the most significant military aid provided by the country, costing more than $1 billion.

According to Euromaidan, the ASC 890 is more than just a plane, it's primarily a super radar that "offers a detection range of up to 450 kilometres and can simultaneously track multiple targets, including aircraft, missiles, and drones". This weapon is described as a "major reinforcement for Ukrainian defence". "Operating at high altitudes of 6,000 metres, the ASC 890 can monitor vast areas, providing real-time data to command centres and enhancing situational awareness".

As the media L'indépendant points out, the ASC 890 will enable F-16 fighter jets, which have limited radar ranges, to "see". Moreover, it's a good alternative to less effective and more vulnerable ground-based radars.

That’s the question, isn’t it? Can Russia target it? The U.S. gave Ukraine a couple of similar assets about a year ago, and Russia has not managed to destroy them in the air or on the ground. That might explain why Sweden is now inclined to give Ukraine an even more advanced capability.

Of course, maybe this was all part of Putin’s sinister plan all along. Lure Ukraine in with a false sense of security for months while his own Air Force is pushed farther and farther back from the front to avoid long-range weapons launched by F-16s. Make Ukraine think its airborne radar and electronic warfare is so sophisticated that Sweden sells Ukraine more advanced airborne radar that extends Ukraine’s operational reach even farther … and only then shall Russia pounce, at last imposing air superiority on hapless Ukraine after strategically biding its time for years!

You forgot that Putin's plan included Ukraine having the largest military in Europe completely made up of NATO Weapson Systems that have been smoking the crap out of their Russian counterparts.
