They were much cheaper then. He would still recruit at tge too at isu but i dont think its that hard. He wouldnt do it at UF right now i dont think. Our nil is top 10ish it seems. We arent goingvto outspend the top few teams. Maybe we will find a gew more boosters willing to give away free money.
Are you referring to the Meyer that once was, or the haven't coached football in some years Meyer of today?
Im refering to his ability in todays world which is mainly just the biggest check available. Day recruits just as well at osu. Its not recruiting ability. That's why Saban quit, he couldnt buy the top classes anymore.
It's still more than money. All things that matter being equal, you take the money. Often equal means whatever the recruiting staff can convince a recruit to believe about the staff and program.
I dunno. That dude that owns nike is trying to buy the 5* left tackle to anchor his line for the next few years. When a guy has that kind of money, i dont see sponsoring a college football team to the tune of 20-40 million a year really affecting his financial viability. It's probably not sustainable for the 20-30 teams that are actually trying to compete in the top division, meaning legit playoff contenders , but there are a handful that can and will sustain. Texas is rumored at 35-40 million this year. That tackle is 6 mil minimum and it's Oregon, Georgia, Ohio State and Miami. If the same schools continue to to take all the top talent, the playoffs are going to look very similar every year. I do think many schools/boosters that really cant afford to dump millions giving up.
