Wow, that’s awesome. My mistake then. We had a Whataburger or two open not much longer after Billy Donovan got here, and I thought it was touted as our first one. I want to say it opened up just west of 34th Street. Then it’s next location was just west of I75 on Newberry Road.

    Go GATORS!

O&B is where we used to go rush to get beer at the 1/2 in games. Then they stopped allowing reentry. It was amazing how much beer could be sold and bought in 20 mins. It was I believe the only place at the time you could buy beer on campus. Circa 94-95

Sorry I have to take the main responsibility with one other who I wont name for taking it off topic. Once you start naming a place these threads always need to happen every several years to get the new stuff in and for the old new stuff to become memories. i love the "remember Gainesville" threads that usually happen in SG but I suppose since there was a BB NC this year, makes sense. It makes you remember and almost smell and feel Gainesville tho don't it? I lived while I was young there. That much is for sure. Also when was there in in-n-out burger in Gainesville whoever said that???

Phish played the Bandshell a few times on their ascention. So did a lot of really good bands. We had a very good Student Union Productions in the 90s. Jewel. The Roots. Black Eyed Pees. Black Keys. Phish was amazing and so they continued coming to Gainesville at the Oconell Center. Tribe Called Quest. More.

Love or hate Phish, before playing the bandshell and eventually the Oconell Center, the played in 93 and 94 at The Florida Theater.

Mind you Phish is second to only Billy Joel now in selling out Madison Square Garden with 87 sold out shows. Billy Joel was did a like two month residency to make sure he would remain number 1 with about 150.

Pretty crazy that a band as big as Phish helped get out at the Florida Theater. Here is some very rare early Phish footage of that show in 93, the audio is available for 94.

There was one on SW 2nd Ave that now has a sign with something like Piper Gi's and one on Hawthorne Road. I know they were both there in 1982 and for a few more years.

Living in LA I find that interesting. Always wondered why In-n-out doesnt make its way out of the west. Its the best fast food (quality and taste) in the country IMHO. Ha. Never knew that. Thanks.

Look back in the thread. I posted Alligator ads and coupons for the In n Out. Not the same as the CA version but it was great food all the same.

Loved it. Wonder if that place could even exist by name today? Sad. Best name of a restaurant ever. Don’t recall if I ever went but it was next to something I was often at.

In-N-Out was fiercely local (Calif.) until the early '90s. I doubt there was a connection other than the name.

I lived in SoCal for 30 years -- chain is a bit overrated but still good. I prefer the Habit Burger chain there, but both are worth a visit. In-N-Out is so popular the seating areas are sometimes dirty and often crowded. We are getting a couple of In-N-Outs here in Albuquerque, where they will do battle with the similar (local chain) Blake's, which has a decent burger and better fries.

In-n-out is the best bar none but when you live here you get sick of it but when I’m away I can’t crave it, I was worried when I just visited here back in the day that I would eat nowhere else but that changed. They keep it close to the vest at in/out to make sure the quality beef stays fresh and real. It’s the only fast food place I’ll eat.

Thad said I’m sick of it and yeah the Burbank one is now known to get lines all the way to Burbank Blvs which is insane. The one at LAX is one of the best places in the world to “plane watch”.
