I don't know, but this is really big news.

This is the type of really important, life-changing thing that I was willing to sacrifice close to 15% of my retirement and equity savings to correct.

Heck, I'd have sacrificed more for such an amazing event as this, especially since Trump also got all those transgender swimmers to finally leave me alone. Trump saved me money!!!

    #WINNING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So they change the name and Orange man goes away? Seems like a reasonable course of action.

I think the right’s criticism of DEI has some validity, but I also think any real defender of liberty should be frightened by this development. What happened to the guys rooting for Cliven Bundy fighting the federal government over local rights? Now we have them cheering on the federal government forcing speech on to public and private universities alike.

They should have changed it to "Orange Man Bad". This would have at the very least resulted in annual contributions from the Besos types to replenish their loss of federal funding.

For me, this makes Trumps 145% federal sales tax all worth it. Harvard changed the name on a sign you’ll never see. Libs = owned.

Ya, my bad. After the small recovery, the market is only down about 10% from where it was when the smart guy you voted for started his tariffs.

Try to stay on topic though; Trump got Harvard to change the DEI office's name or something. What a win!

This is exactly the kind of meaningful results you were hoping for when you cast your ballot for that great great man and certainly it must fill you with Trumpy joy! Can't you just be happy with the winning for once? I mean the first time. I mean never, if you really think about it ..... ;)

Stay on topic, please. We're not discussing Jared Kushner's zero-gain, fee-generating-only "investment fund."

Simply change the name to comply with the Gestapo. Move/Counter move.

Speaking of Harvard, a scathing report, commissioned by the university, came out today confirming that rampant antisemitism has infiltrated the campus. Obviously the findings of this report come as a surprise to absolutely no one and apparently Harvard’s President now wants to commission a report to find out if water is indeed wet.

I think you are burying the lede here, sting.

Imagine Trump paying for an independent investigation of whether his tariffs are really more harmful than helpful. And that this study finds that they are overall harmful. And in response, Trump releases the full report showing the many ways the tariffs harmed America and apologizes to all of us, promising that he will do everything he can to repair the damages. And then imagine the left complaining that Trump just studied whether water is wet.

Clearly, the only part of this story that is remotely realistic in this universe is the negative response from the left. Harvard just commissioned an honest appraisal of their environment and now vows to do better. They should be praised, not ridiculed. And if Trump ever shocked us by doing something similar, you better believe I’d be defending him too.

    Your take isn't bad, but IMO it omits an element;

This is arguably the most prestigious university in the country. They've seen that this carnival barker con man only needs to offer some trolling and fakery in order to have his uninformed followers believe that something was some kind of big win.

They're honestly probably just like: "What meaningless words will make the idiot go away? "

    Interesting post…
Why do you automatically assume Harvard made an honest self-evaluation?
I think I know why but it is nevertheless revealing.

Hopefully they will closely monitor Harvard to be sure they cease their discriminatory policies.

You are correct that my assumption was rather automatic. I didn’t read into any details to investigate the assessments myself. As you have likely surmised about me, assuming good intentions on the part of others is my default. However, here are three rational reasons why we might suspect the studies to be honest (by which I mean without a predetermined conclusion):
    1. The conclusion they came to was unflattering. Why bother faking a report to do that? They also commissioned a report in anti-Muslim bias, which also was unflattering.
    2. The anti-Semitic task force included Jewish stakeholders, such as the former director of Hillel.
    3. They released both of the reports in their entirety for everyone to examine.
So we can never say for sure that any report is honest, but these are basically the best indicators we can get.

That certainly seems likely with the DEI office name change, but these reports seem like serious overkill for that purpose.

It doesn’t seem to have much to do with discriminatory policies. The findings appear more to do with general culture. Here are a couple snippets:

Jo, you don’t seem like a young pup. Bitterness like yours is accumulated over time. Maybe you should reconsider your investment advisors and get new ones. If you’re down even 5% then both you AND your advisor suck at investing. No one should be all in the stock market, but particularly older, bitter men/women or whatever pronouns you’re currently using.

With CDs in the >4% and bonds higher, you’re a fool to be all in on stocks.

Or maybe, just maybe you’re blabbering again nonsensically.
