because Amazon makes 15% of the sale and they don't pay out until the end of the month. They collect a fee and interest on that sale until it's time to pay on the 1st of the following month. Their sales are going suffer because 70% of the products sold on their platform are from China. What will happen and is already happening is Temu and Shein now can no longer afford to advertise on the 1st page of Google search, which will be a win for American made products they knocked off. Hopefully Amazon will soon feel the pain and not own the first page of Google search. This will hurt Google too.

Didn't you mean to say "which will be a loss for the American consumers who pay higher prices" ?

I guess I am slow. If China is paying the tariff why is Amazon also charging the customer?

Anyone who pays $40 for a phone case now that they were paying $20 for before has $20 less to pay on going out to eat or taking an uber or buying an American made something else.

There is no economic value added by paying more for something you could pay less for in a world where Americans spend 102% of their income.

The first step to recovery is admitting US consumers are paying Trump’s tariffs. Next will be that tariffs are taxes, and then you can close the loop on Trump raising every American’s taxes.

Once graduated past that we can get into the negative economic effects of tariffs.

Amazon to lay off 20,000, or 4% of its global workforce, and close 73 of its U.S. buildings. They claim it is not because of tariffs, even though shipping was down 16% for the first quarter (they do admit it was a factor).

well if amazon is cutting back then that would impact some of the other delivery services they use.
