Kind of like basketball. Vols have always been good in softball, but never won a NC, even when Monica Abbott was there. Would like to keep it that way.
I was jsut referring to the conference championship. Hate the idea of OU coming in and winning it. Because if our defense it looks like thst will happen. Grand scheme of thing all that matters is the end. Jsut don't like hearing their fans.
I may have one reserve ticket available for each OU game; but I only have one. I’ll be in the other seat. Is anybody interested?
Two old maids, laying in the bed. One rolled over and the other one said, ‘Who was that fool that paid $1850 for two tickets for a softball game that’s free on TV?”
Yea, I get it. Luckily for me I don't know any Sooners or Horns fans for that matter. I do know a few Vols tho, hence the comment.
They are ranking camps now????? LOL. Put me in the category of I'm not the least bit worried about our camp ranking.
I can’t afford the price. Until the old house sells I’m dead broke. Reason for moving you ask? Literally worse neighbor ever who happens to be a Volunteer fan lol.
Gator softball team has played the toughest schedule in the country, but to me they look like a team that won't make the WCWS. Would love to be wrong, but the clutch hitting against good pitchers isn't there, the defense is weak and the pitching is not good enough. Something is off with this team compared to last year.
I agree. It’s hard to imagine that with the accumulation of talent that we have seen punctuated by KRoc and Ava that we would be fast approaching their junior years and no natty. I thought for sure that there would be one if not two nattys out of this group. And they still might. But now, the pressure is on. It appears that if we win anymore nattys it will be IN SPITE of the hitting Coach not thanks to him since CTW is committed to keeping his college bud.
Gators are 8th, 9th, & 11th in the polls that came out today. I think one win this weekend will give them the 8th seed. Sooners need one win and maybe two to win the SEC. If Oklahoma wins the first two, it wouldn't surprise me if Gasso started a second line pitcher in game three.
It would be interesting to compute the WAR for our starting lineup. I'm not sure the hitting ability of some is worth the defensive liability. My Giants won 3 World Series with elite pitching and defense and decent situational hitting (no superstars with Buster Posey being a possible exception).
Softball America projecting 6 SEC teams in as of today. Arkansas has a ridiculous top of their resume, 4-1 in series vs. Top 10 RPI teams (3-0 on the road, 1-1 at home). I think FLORIDA has the most top 20 RPI wins (13, tied with A&M). OU (1) - Duke (16) TAMU (2) - Texas Tech (15) FLORIDA (3) - Clemson (14) Texas (4) - Oregon (13) Tennessee (5) - Arizona (12) UCLA (6) - Alabama (11) Arkansas (7) - Carolina (10) SWAC (8) - LSU (9) Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
i'm not criticizing anyone on the team... Top 100 pitchers ERA stat-wise all are under 2.5 ERA. Aside from Miller, who has only pitched 30 innings, none of our pitchers have an ERA under 2.50. Expectations have to be moderated when you don't have a dominant pitcher.
Isn’t our hitting coach a woman, former pro and the greatest hitter in the history of Florida softball? Yes?
Actually, our hitting coach is Aric Thomas. His primary responsibility is outfielders and hitting instruction. Francesca Enea is in her 2nd year as an assistant coach, probably being groomed to become head coach when Tim Walton retires. I'm sure she has input in all areas of team development, but the specified duty of Thomas is hitting. And while Enea is an all-time Gator great, saying she was the greatest hitter in UF hitter is a quite a stretch. I love Francesca, but the fact is that she's not in the Top 10 for either season or career batting average, is #3 in home runs, #7 in slugging, #2 in RBI, not in Top 10 in hits, doubles or on-base %. As excellent as Francesca was, Amanda Lorenz, Skylar Wallace, Lauren Haeger, Kelsey Stewart, Kelsey Bruder and Michelle Moultrie would have to be ranked above her as all-time Gator great hitter.
