The WR room is packed with 5'11ish +/- speed inside guys. It needed a big/fast boundary WR and CBN just landed the #1 guy.

 

Add Johntay Cook this weekend and we are done at WR position.

 

OK. Yeah. A strong tall vet on one side would be a huge deal along with D. Wilson.

Sturdivant, returning to the portal after transferring from California to UCLA ahead of the 2023 season, became a cornerstone of the Bruins’ passing attack through a pair of years in Westwood. The 6-foot-3 wideout quickly established himself as a go-to target, finishing his debut season with 597 receiving yards on 36 receptions and four touchdowns.

This year, though, Sturdivant’s production dipped. He finished fifth on the team in receiving yards – and third among true wideouts – with 315 yards and two touchdowns. His average yards per catch dropped by 2.3 from 2023, sparking criticism of since-fired associate head coach and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy for failing to truly leverage Sturdivant’s blend of speed and size as a deep threat.

 

We have too many folks that just elsewhere accuse this staff of "bargain shopping" if they don't win every battle for the hearts/minds of 18-year old youngsters. I'm sure those savants will find something to pee on in this.

We were second for a few dudes last year and ended up getting them…Pup, Grims, Zanda, Money…

 

If they let him out of the NLI it should count towards our class. If they don’t and he transfers, it would count towards our transfer class.

 

If this works out and say Cooks comes into the fold. This WR group will have completely flipped from what Mullen left. This WR group could be scary fast next year. Will be interesting to see what happens with Billy G.
