They're just parasites who take what is offered among the graces of society, and then steal what is not. And even the New York Post admits to the actual intent of those programs, which is not to replace what you lost but rather to handle daily expenses in the short-term. There is a later process for the replacement of at least some of what you lost (although her lack of flood insurance is going to somewhat limit that). It sounds like she was approved for $300 for the daily expenses by FEMA. BTW, it is always fun to see the people calling for small government complain that government is too small.

It is fascinating. This is why the “immigrants are getting aid!” or the “black welfare queen!” schticks works so well on these people. They really do think they are competing with immigrants for govt handouts that they are entitled to. As far as this mayors daughter, it references her “downstairs” being flooded. So presumably the upstairs of her home is habitable. Pretty sure that’s why she wouldn’t qualify for that assistance if she’s still able to sleep in her own home. Sounds like this mayor thinks FEMA is free “make whole” insurance or something. I do agree even for those that do qualify or had their homes made uninhabitable, $750 is pretty sad just because in many areas that’s just 2 or 3 nights in a hotel at best. Should probably be more like $1500. But I tend to think the govts job is to provide temporary shelters in impacted areas, not to just hand out boatloads of cash.
