This team does seem to have a unique vibe. I don't think that we have ever really been the singing clapping dugout at tge rate we cheer now. It's not like UCLA annoying but just enough to get them motivated.
Does anyone track full count at bats? Korbe sure makes a pitcher work before she puts on in the grass. Seems like over 75% of her at bats go full count, extremely patient.
You must have not been around in '14 and '15. Those were the Twizzlers' years when they celebrated Heather Braswell's life. They were probably the most emotional years of Gator Softball. I am so gratified and excited to see this team embrace HEATHER. Thank goodness this important tradition is maintained.
We're definitely going to host a Regional. Top 8 seed gets us a Super Regional host if we win our regional.
SEC Freshman of the Year. SEC Player of the Year and probably runner-up SEC Player of the Year. Five players on SEC first team. Won 8 of their last 9 games against ranked teams which I'm sure no other team in the country has done this well this late in the season. If these ladies don't get a top 8 seed, it is the crime of the century.
After yesterday's games, Florida is up to #6 in the KPI, Missouri #7, UCLA #8, Stanford #9, LSU #10. DSR now has Florida at #4, Duke #5, Oklahoma State #6, Missouri #7, LSU #8, UCLA #9, Stanford #10.
Just got curious and thought I'd share. Louisiana Ragin Cajuns are 42-16, 22-2 in the Sun Belt. Sam Roe has played catcher and some infield, has played in all 58 games with 56 starts, is 4th on the team in BA at .329, OPS .960, slugging .537, 9 HR, 36 RBI, 22 BB, 12 K's, .423 OBP, 7-7 in stolen bases. Not sure where she would have fit into the Gator lineup, so good for her to make the move where she could play and contribute every day. Lexi Delbrey has only thrown 36 innings, 4-2 record, 3.50 ERA in 17 appearances, 6 starts, 19 BB, 19 K's, 4 wild pitches, 4 hit batters, .277 BA against. Louisiana has relied primarily on 2 pitchers who have thrown 295 innings between them, so Delbrey hasn't been much of a factor for them.
KPI---------------RPI---------------Composite & Rank 1. Texas----------Texas-------------2----------1 2. Oklahoma-----Oklahoma--------4----------2 3. Tennessee-----Duke-------------3.5T-------3T 4. UCLA-----------Stanford---------7----------6 9. Stanford-------Missouri----------8.5-------10 10. LSU-----------Oklahoma St.----7.5T------7T Comments: 1. Don't understand OK St. dropping 4 spots in the RPI. UT didn't drop like that when they lost in the conference tournament first round. 2. Can understand on Missouri as they have been successful road warriors this season playing many more road than home games. 3. I'm not a buyer of LSU. You just can't finish 8th in conference with a .500 season record and be as high as 5 where the tiggers are in the RPI. 4. JMO, the KPI is more accurate than the RPI, the ESPN announcers yesterday admitted as much. Thankfully, both the KPI and the RPI will be used by the selection committee. 5. The Gators have fans today on the west coast and in the southwest. Stanford, Oklahoma State, and their fans will be rooting for the Gators to beat Missouri.
It would suck, but calling it the crime of the century is hyperbole. It’s basically 4 teams for three spots now it would seem. UF, OSU and Mizzou. Plus Stanford possibly. KPI: OSU 5, UF 6, Mizzou 7, Stanford 9 RPI: Stanford 7, Missouri 8, UF 9, OSU 10 head to head against the other 2: UF 1-3 OSU 1-0 Mizzou 2-1 Stanford N/A last 10: UF 8-2 OSU 8-2 Mizzou 8-2 Stanford 7-3 SOS: Mizzou 9, Stanford 12, UF 17, OSU 27 Road neutral: Stanford 25-8 Mizzou 34-9 UF 23-7 OSU 25-9 Quad 1/2: Stanford 34-12 Mizzou 33-14 UF 29-12 OSU 33-10 So good freakin luck to the committee.
Stanford is on the edge, but UCLA is firmly in. I saw some of the UCLA/Arizona game. The Bruins pass the eye test. When they get on a roll, they are hard to get out, capable of putting up crooked number innings. It's UCLA vs. Utah today. I just can't see Utah beating the Bruins. Missouri can possibly win themselves a top 8 seed today. JMO, the Gators have earned a top 8 seed already. The SEC tourney final has the makings to be the best game of significance today.
I am happy for Sam. She recognized there was no role for her on this team and did the thing that got her involved with another team. She also drove in the winning run, giving OU their first loss of the year. I sincerely hope Lexie will be successful. She has talent if she can just get her "nerves" under control.
