Still waiting for you to provide : (a) the Middle Eastern state that provides more freedoms to both its citizens and non-citizens than Israel provides, and (b) your solution to how Israel completes the prosecution of its War against Hamas, understanding that its two uncompromising objectives are : (a) the release of all hostages, and (b) the unconditional surrender by Hamas.

Didn't claim there was one. There likely isn't. Middle Eastern countries often have fairly extensive issues related to how they grant citizenship, leading to downright slavery in certain instances. That doesn't mean that Israel provides equal rights to its Arabic population. They don't.

They aren't going to get B. A is possible with a deal. But the leadership of Hamas is in Qatar. Tell me how anything that they have done thus far or that they can do militarily, even in theory, leads to B, given that we both state that Hamas has no regard for the civilian population or their own current forces. Killing more civilians won't make B more likely.

And that’s why we find ourselves with the tragedy unfolding before our eyes. I don’t see Israel agreeing to stop prosecuting a War with a central goal of dismantling a terrorist organization governing Gaza, without achieving that goal.

Agree, and still no one gives 2 shits we have 5 Americans still as hostages. Has the Biden admin done anything substantial to try to get those hostages released?

I won’t say Biden has done nothing. Biden has stood by Israel for much of the crisis. But Biden has determined that Israel’s goal, as announced at the beginning of the War — to secure the return of all hostages AND the full, unconditional surrender of Hamas and its purported government, no longer meet with Biden’s goals. I understand Biden’s rationale, but I disagree with his policy, only because I cannot see any other path to secure Israel’s goals. To be sure, given Hamas’s position, I have not read a single proposal to end this War, other than prosecuting it to its full, ugly and tragic conclusion, that makes sense from Israel’s security and point of view.

Agree Biden has stood by Israel for much of this war. My issue is why hasn't Biden done anything on the US's part to get our hostages back? Did he make threats to Hamas about what would happen if any Americans were killed by Hamas? If not why? If my family was held hostage by Hamas I would be trying to get on every news show in the US trying to get the Biden Admin to do something. Hell, threaten to take out Hamas leadership in Qatar if that's what it takes. All I know is 5 US Hostages are still being held. Hopefully they are still alive.

I had the same question. My assumption all along was that Biden agreed to let Israel lead. And now that there’s a diplomatic disconnect, I’m very curious what Biden is going to do for the Americans.

You would think all these anti-Israel people would at least want the US Hostages returned but I think I may one of the only ones in this whole thread bringing it to the forefront.

There is a good chance that most of the hostages were killed by Israel's indiscriminate bombing of Gaza. Hopefully they are still alive.

100% agree with this. Israel needs to force Hamas to surrender. Every time Israel has pulled up at the last minute, Hamas has interpreted it as strategic victory, and this was precisely what Hamas had in mind when it launched the October 7th attacks. Israel has made more than enough humanitarian provisions for the civilian people of Gaza who are willing and able to leave. If Hamas is holding their own people as hostage, then that is on Hamas, not Israel.

I'll take wild conjecture for $1,000 please Alex. IF that was true Hamas would've already stated that whether it was true or not. Hamas doesn't miss a chance to make Israel look bad.

This is absolute treachery. This will not stop the IDF. All it means is more Israeli soldiers will be killed going building by building. Tunnel by tunnel. But we know that’s what you want….. More Israeli death to make things equitable. Nice ally

Predicated on the false assumption that Israel's bombing of targets in Gaza has been "indiscriminate." You might argue that it has been disproportionate, given that Hamas cannot strike back in a similar way, but every single target Israel has chosen has been for military necessity and has been weighed against the potential collateral damage. You might not like or agree with Israel's rationale, but then again you probably weren't affected by the October 7th attacks. I would point out once again that Hamas had the ceasefire it desired on October 6th, and all of these targets we are discussing were intact.

So, Israel deemed the 7 World Food Kitchen Aid workers killed in the convoy was a legit target out of "military necessity?"

It’s not fair Hamas doesn’t have F35 and F15s to drop guided munitions…… so they had no choice but to waste a whole
Year under a ceasefire to plan an attack on civilians and when they got the first hint at resistance they turn and run and hide behind their own kids. You just don’t understand the oppressed Hamas.

80-90% of all deaths in urban combat are civilians. Point the finger at the people who started this during the most recent ceasefire

How dare you call me an antisemite. One can be critical of Israeli and Netanyahu policies and not be antisemitic.

the precedent has been set. I didn’t like Hillary’s proposed policies and was called misogynist and sexist. When I commented I was against Obamacare I was deemed a redneck racist. Any objection to anything Kamala says, no matter how idiotic, and I’m a sexiest and racist. So it makes complete sense that if you oppose anything Israeli you are an antisemite
