They are releasing a new iPad Pro and this was the ad they put with it. It is getting destroyed online. It does come across as arrogant, but that’s always been Apple.

Cher? Why? LMFAO! They act like this product in the coolest, baddest, most awesome product they've ever made, and the use Cher's nasty raspyazz voice? Epic Fail!

Great concept--just have the creative instruments seamlessly meld into the top part, and it's a winner.

But yeah, watching them get crushed is a bit itchy. Can see how that's taken as counterintuitive.

Pretty shocking they didn’t see this coming. But then again, our creatives put a croc on our media guide cover. So shit happens.

I watched it without sound since I was in the office and I thought it was a good ad.

I just watched it and I felt like the old ads when I was a kid, watching the Indian stand by watching the country literally be littered with trash. Why would Apple want to smash our nostalgic memories?!?!?!

Were you picturing puppies getting crushed instead of musical instruments?

I agree that is offensive. The rebel becomes the tyrant after taking power. The story of human history

Offensive is too strong a word imo. Tone deaf is probably more like it. It’s possible they were just naive enough to not realize the dualistic impression such an ad could generate.

The same ad company pitched an ad to Microsoft where instead of crushing musical instruments, they crushed a pile of humans. The ad then featured AI driven robots playing real acoustic instruments. The focus group responses were AMAZING. :emoji_upside_down:

Their message is clear but presented in a bad way. I’m curious who made the ad and who approved it?

That might give us a clue as to why it was presented that way.

I would say old guys aren’t a target audience but those over 45 make up 25% of the market.

People have written entire books about how capitalism annihilates tradition and flattens everything and they just tweeted it out in a 20 second ad

Instead of destroying tradition the ad should have focused on how technology gives us the efficiency to enjoy all of those products in a small package. They missed a great opportunity.

There has to be a way to capture how you can have a shittier, more hollow experience than the things its destroyed, but at least its all in the same small box now
