Disney firefighters endorsed DeSantis appointee, now appointee is trying to cancel their pay raises

    ORLANDO, Fla. -- After appointees of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took over Walt Disney World’s governing district earlier this year, its firefighters were among the few employees who publicly welcomed them with open arms.

    But that warm relationship is in jeopardy as a new district administrator has reopened negotiations on a contract that was approved last month by the unionized firefighters, promising pay raises and more manpower.

    A vote on the contract originally was targeted for last month during a meeting of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District board of supervisors. But it was never brought up, and it did not appear on an agenda released ahead of the next meeting scheduled for Wednesday.

    The firefighters looked forward to collaborating with the new supervisors and administrator after years of clashing with their Disney-supporting predecessors, and viewed the appointments as “an opportunity for a fresh start,” he said. But the delay in approving the contract has alienated the firefighters' union, which last year endorsed the gubernatorial reelection campaign of DeSantis.

    I guess they get to live with their choices. Perhaps their pay gets cut - but they can rest assured they won’t go woke!!

    They probably figured if they sucked up to DeSantis he would let them give it to him up the ass like democrats often do.

    The teacher’s message to firefighters is “Welcome to our world.”

    It’s weird that the GOP spends so much time attacking those who teach their kids, protect them from criminals, and rescue them from burning buildings. Not only that, but why attack those who gave them so much support in elections? GOP politicians were tripping over themselves to get a photo op with cops and firefighters after 9/11, but now they’re just another target that needs to be overworked and underpaid.

    When the members of the district governing body view their constituents as the enemy, not much good is going to come out of it. The firefighters and other employees might end up getting raises, but, in the long term, no one is going to be happy.

    It's not just him. Several of the hard core righties immediately take threads to circle jerks, strip clubs and lately, as you noted, butt sex. I have my theories as to why....
