No reason to stack your coverage if you have 1 car, and even if you have multiple I'm not sure its worth it, especially if you have high limits. Im sure lawyers like higher limits because getting policy limits is always easier in a dispute than obtaining a tort judgement that may never be paid. I think stacking coverage is an invention of lawyers in Florida to that came out of a suit a long time ago, I dont think it exists anywhere else.
I don't know whether it's worth it or not. I live in Virginia and pay $165 for UMV coverage (USAA, 300/500/100).
Most doctors can opine an injury is permanent if the patient has 6 months of subjective pain complaints. Getting a doctor to opine an injury is "permanent" is not hard to do. Problem is some will say a soft tissue injury is permanent and then the patient gets really hurt and HAS a permanent injury. Problem then is you're looking at an aggravation and that severely hampers a personal injury claim for the serious accident.
they sent him for additional tests and meeting with a doctor and apparently didn't feel strong enough to go back at Progressive. It just seems that the amount of inconvenience, time off of work, lack of quality of life, etc is worth much more than the $4k that is left over after the medical bills are paid. Appreciate the input.
