Important early season benchmark. Very poor start in doubles, beaten badly on courts 1 and 3.....were even on 2 when point decided Briggs wins 1st set 6-4, down a break in second Dudney 6-4 5-2 Dahlstrom 4-6 6-0...hopefully she figured her opponent out Gailis 4-6 6-0 ......see above lol Sysoeva 5-7 3-1....probably my most disappointing thus far this season (with Shelton) De Oliviera 6-4 4-0...probably the biggest surprise, didn't expect much
Dudney closes it out 4 and 2....match even at 1-1 Dahlstrom down a break in the third, Gailis up a break in the third Sysoeva and Emily both up a break in their 2nd sets
As is often the case in womens matches....the service breaks are as common as the holds. In fact there are a lot more breaks than holds since I started following this one. I think there was one hold in Briggs second set which she lost 6-4 to force a third Dahlstrom 2-2 in 3rd, all breaks Gailis broke to go up 3-1 in 3rd....only one hold Sysoeva a break to go up 5-2...should force a third De Oliveira serving at 5-1 to close her match out
Briggs with a quick break to go 1-0 in her third Dahlstrom loses 3 break points....3-3 in 3rd Gailis breaks to go up Sysoeva 6-2 in second, forces a third De Oliveira with a great 6-1 set to put UF up 2-1...nice outing
Dahlstrom closes it out 6-3, UF up 3-1 Gailis unable to convert 2 match points on serve gets broken, 5-4 Briggs on fire 4-0 Sysoeva about to go down 1-3....not pretty
Gailis pulls it together and breaks for the match Briggs was up 5-0 and cruising Sysoeva was down 1-3 and struggling Decent outing. FSU is pretty middle of the road so it was important to take care of business here. Got to be better in doubles than they were today, need Sysoeva to find her game a little
