Different era. Florida didn't care what players were doing as long as they were winning on Saturday.

Guilty of being a dumdass. Stop putting everything on social media!! There is always someone looking to be offended.
Having said that i think the kid is getting hosed. Absoulutely no intent to harm, just a dumd kid singing a song.. Pulling a scholly is harsh.

This is the correct answer. However you feel about it, having him in the locker room with quite possibly lots of other folks who would take offense to it is not a good thing.

Ridiculous double standard and hypocrisy. I don’t blame CBN but rather the world we live in. So a race isn’t allowed to sing popular songs? Wtf is going on here?

Mmm hmmm, and people that say this are same ones that will say "we were all young and dumb once," when a kid gets caught going 90mph in a 40 or with drugs, etc. AND see absolutely no hypocrisy or irony in it, and in fact use it as ANOTHER way to virtue signal their righteousness

    In my head--- UF
    He’d lose that suit.

Would not play one down of college football ever. Anywhere

I saw a group of boys in the back of a pick up truck in a field (no idea why no reason to be there)all loudly rapping to a song. There were white, black and Hispanics in the group. All freeling rapping the word that cannot be uttered. It blew my mind that it was acceptable if just for that group.

I have sympathy for the kid. If it isn't acceptable why is it ubiquitous? If it is why is he being punished. That being said I wouldn't invite problems into the locker room.

One of the tenets of our Democracy is freedom of speech. That’s not to say there aren’t boundaries but we have become a nation of people who are intolerant and unforgiving. This is a 17 year old for heavens sake. Cut him some slack.

Being a D1 recruit for a long time Stokes has been drilled over and over and over regarding social media. He knew the ramifications. I’m not surprised by the outcome.. Having been part of so many D1&D2 recruits process I’ve seen scholarships being pulled for way less. I’ve always told my athletes. Don’t do anything that will jeopardize your ride! You may have committed but if they see something you do they don’t like it will be all for not! To keep it simple I always say don’t F this up!!

I highly doubt a single player on the team would take offense. He was singing the same music they all listen to probably in the locker room together.

I remember Percy saying it after beating Arkansas when he was a freshman in the 2006 SECCG. He gave a shout out to his "main n-word Dallas" in reference to Dallas Baker. I don't recall him dropping one after the Oklahoma victory. I was at both games and trophy presentations.

It does seem harsh - we don't know details, maybe there was something else but he is saying the right things now. He came through for us when he flipped from Penn State when QB recruiting looked terrible so I wish him the best.

I believe that was the 2006 SEC championship game when he referred to Jemalle Cornelious or Dallas Baker as his.....
