... developing? Was it due to extra time preparing for UT? Playing up to the competition? Or ...?

Tweaks to the game plans, getting out of his own head.

He lost his mojo after multiple bad throws in the Kentucky game. Started overthinking and playing "skeered". It took 2 weeks for the staff to coach him up to play aggressively and find confidence again!
The same thing happened to Franks and Driskel who were never coached up by the Gator staff at all. They transferred and are NFLers today.

Group chat with receivers as well, all getting on the same page, additional communication and prep before the game

I really think he got in his own head with all the hype. Now that nobody is talking about him in the first round anymore, he can go back to being the Gator quarterback. The AR we saw against kentucky and usf is not the AR we know.

Sorry if this goes contrary to what everyone wants to believe (not that I am an expert at anything), but to me, this season has always been about a lack of a viable (in Napier's mind) Plan B at QB if the goal is to win games (too many other holes to fill on the team). And as a result, Napier has put a governor on AR. And that meant telling him not to do what he is designed to do. Tennessee was a game Napier wisely (IMO) decided to let him go off it. Probably it also had to do with a better feel for Kitna. His comments during the week told me so.

And, besides AR not wanting to harm the team in his play and his possible aversion to being "The Savior", my guess is it is mostly about the relationship between Napier and AR getting more mature and they both are more comfortable in what is asked of the offense. One game more experience is sometimes a LOT.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it just simply came down to getting away from home. All the noise, family and friends asking for tickets .. people pulling here or there. Anywhere he goes in Gainesville people will be staring, kids might be asking for autographs. Playing on the road at this point for him isn’t a bad thing.on the road there’s no noise just get on the plane and go play!

This is also quite plausible. Thanks for adding.

I don't intend to say AR isn't developing, but we do have to acknowledge that they knew they were going to score on us and just wanted to contain AR, so they used a very soft zone that was easy for AR to pick apart (and is much better for our receivers who are challenged at getting separation in man coverage, putting more pressure on AR). They hoped he would implode. He didn't.

Hmmm? IF that was their scheme, it sure made the Vol Nation think the Gators were going to steal another win.

His two best performances slinging have been on the road(Tn & lsu). Seems to just go out and play ball undistracted.

UT should give the MVP to whoever got to AR on the final play. Had he not been hit, Shorter was 2 steps behind the defense. AR saw him and was going to him.

This is a quote from an article about AR needing a fourth year, and this quote is quote interesting.

"It’s all about survival in the SEC, which means Richardson’s development can’t be at the forefront of Florida’s mind. They want him to continue to do what he already does well, rather than try to help him develop new skills in-season."

Could Anthony Richardson Return to the Florida Gators for a Fourth Year?

The biggest thing I saw was he was throwing with a lot more touch. In the earlier games he just threw lasers when it wasn’t always the time to throw lasers. He gave the receivers better balls to catch.

Footwork was back. No more standing flat footed and throwing with all arm and no base like he did in both od the prior games. Considerably different in that regard.
