…USCe and LSU. I'm sure it's going to be a bidding war but I'm puzzled why his name never came up for UF. If he makes a name for himself in football, they'll have to retire the nickname "Freak." For those who missed the conversation about him early in the cycle, he's 6'5", 225 and runs 10.28 100 meters and 20.63 in the 200. Don't know if he runs a 4.3 but that's his GPA. There doesn't seem to be a consensus on which side of the LOS he belongs. Plays OLB, DE, TE and WR in high school. His interest in USC and LSU is partly about their track programs. Again, why not UF? Five-star Nyckoles Harbor visiting South Carolina this weekend, locks in LSU official as well You gotta see this 100 meter heat. Looks like he's racing fifth-graders.
It would seem odd that he doesn't check out what the best collegiate track coach in the country has to offer. I wonder what his 200 time is?
I figured BN philosophy would not include multi-sport athletes except in extreme occasions, such as current players on roster. I am not sure why I think that, perhaps because his process is year round.
I think he already does that. "Racked up 17 sacks, six forced fumbles, three recoveries, and two punt blocks as a junior." Pretty solid on offense. "Also caught 16 passes for 290 yards and five TDs." Imagine what his numbers would be like if his QB had a strong enough arm to hit him in full stride.
Track and field is the easiest second sport for a football players. Can't count the number of Gator football players who have run track going back to Willie Wilder in '76.
Anyone seriously interested in T&F sport has to include UF. With portal, all the best track athletes are coming our way. Elite coach and fellow athletes to compete with each day in practice
How about Paul Maliska and Steve Tannen. Both doing double duty on UFs Track and Football teams in 1968.
Even more incentive to bring Speed back to UF like we used to. Fast track/football guys could get the best of both worlds. Have them talk to Demps who did it all and was successful. #MakeFloridaFastAgain
Kid is an absolute freak of nature athlete, but something tells me he won't play a down of college football.
Not sure what his ceiling is in track or how much money he can make without breaking the 10 and/or 20 second barrier. His financial ceiling in football is very high, especially as an edge defender. I was skeptical about his football potential until I saw his clips. Looks like potential first rounder on either side of the LOS.
