I already have. I'm not sure what you think the IG Report says but I don't think it is going to help the point you seem to be trying to make. The IG's Report says that Crossfire Hurricane was properly premised but that the FBI made a lot of extremely embarrassing errors in it and all those errors cut one way. The IG also found that the FBI's applications to the FISC were so bad, the IG ordered a review of 25 (I think) other applications to the FISC to see if this one was anomaly or it was a systemic problem. It turned out to be a systemic problem.

Please show me where it states that "Clinton Campaign Oppo" triggered Hurricane and the four subsequent investigations.

I've updated my post. The IG found the case to be properly premised however they would not have gone to the FISC for a FISA warrant without the Steele Dossier. If you want me to be more accurate, Clinton Campaign Oppo triggered a FISA Warrant. This is the big one. This was the biggest red line that the FBI crossed during Crossfire Hurricane. It is what I tend to focus on.

As to the others, we still don't know what happened with George Papadopoulos, Joseph Mifsud, and Downer. That is believed to be what started the investigation. We now know the Alfa Bank allegations were found to be BS by the FBI Cyber experts.

    To elaborate:

"Shortly after opening the Carter Page investigation in August 2016, the Crossfire Hurricane team discussed the possible use of FISA-authorized electronic surveillance targeting Page, which is among the most sensitive and intrusive investigative techniques. As we describe in Chapter Five, the FBI ultimately did not seek a FISA order at that time because OGC, NSD's Office of Intelligence (OI), or both determined that more information was needed to support probable cause that Page was an agent of a foreign power. However, immediately after the Crossfire Hurricane team received Steele's election reporting on September 19, the team reinitiated their discussions with OI and their efforts to obtain FISA surveillance authority for Page, which they received from the FISC on October 21."

What was the second Clinton trigger of these 5 investigations?

Correct. And certainly the problems with the Page FICA warrants must be addressed so they don't occur again.

Meanwhile, as confirmed by the Inspector General, there were already plenty of reasons to initiate and proceed with the Russia investigation and more reasons uncovered as the investigation unfolded to continue with the investigation. All this is lost on those who fixate on the Page FICA warrants issued 3 months after the investigation began.

I'm sorry but you are going to have to be more clear what you are asking about. Are you talking about the renewals of the FISA warrants or are you talking about derivatives off of Crossfire Hurricane, such as Crossfire Razor?

If you are asking about the first Page FISA application, IG himself said that the FBI would not have gone to the FISC without the Steele Dossier during his testimony.

It's true that the campaign did not trigger the investigations, as they had already commenced. But there should be no shame if the campaign had been responsible. In fact, the only shame would've been at the campaign did not alert the national security apparatus that a hostile foreign power was trying to plant an asset in the White House. Any patriotic American should do the same.

There is no doubt that is what was occurring and what did occur.

Do you ever focus on the dozens of "red lines" crossed by the Trump campaign: lies about Trump's financial ties to Russia; lies about Trump pursuing a Trump Tower in Moscow; lies by virtually everyone in the campaign about their contacts with the Russians; Trump publicly asking Russia to hack his opponent; Manafort, Kushner and Don Jr meeting with Russian operatives in Trump Tower to get dirt on his opponent; lies about that meeting in Trump Tower; Stones ties to WikiLeaks; Manafort giving campaign info to a Russian operative, presumably to assist Russia's social media propaganda and political rallies against his opponent; etc ???

Yes, that has been covered on this board a lot. Go read the threads where it has been covered for the past 4+ years.

My focus, as someone that has been in the US IC for over 18 years, is on how a FISA warrant ended up being granted against a POTUS campaign aide for one of the two major parties. And it was issued based off information that was sourced to a person that the FBI considered to be Russian intel agent, to the point they were about to get a FISA warrant on him. How this happened needs to be explained in detail. As I've repeatedly said on this board, I would be saying the same exact thing if the Trump DOJ tried to get a FISA warrant against Hunter Biden. The IC should not be getting dragged into Presidential Campaigns.

The Carter Page FISA predication problems are the problems that have existed ever since the Patriot Act was spawned.

As usual with the American right wing, that was totally cool when the abuses were aimed at Muslims or liberal groups. But then they had the nerve to apply it to a traitorous GOP presidential candidate...

Because they knew he was guilty and FISC is a rubber stamp that only needs the thinnest of pretexts to apply its veneer of legitimacy to the Police State. Plenty of folks on the left AND the right have warned us about the abuse and corruption inherent in a 'secret court'. If you thought it would take a partisan firebrand like Trump or that he was the first, rather than that being SOP, you're sadly mistaken.
QED. It wasn't a plot against Trump, it was the Police State just pretending to follow the rules like they would with anyone else. They sift through everything they can, find what they need, then go get the permissions and justifications they need to be able to use it as evidence. It's nothing new, just look at how much was put into the Bill of Rights trying to stem that tide over 200 years ago.

Edit: This also came to mind.
Former Congressman William J. Jefferson Sentenced to 13 Years in Prison for Bribery and Other Charges
And let's not forget about this guy whose sentence was commuted by the former president.

Page had left the campaign before the FISA warrant was issued. I have no quarrel with the first warrant except for the lie. My question stands as to the renewals. It is disturbing to me to have DOJ investigating itself. Even Durham. Why haven’t they released why they were able to get renewals? It is not enough to support that there is a criminal investigation now. They should latest have their answers.

Notable that Mr. “drain the swamp” unilaterally undid a couple of the highest profile convictions (Blago and Manafort).

Yes, because neither Durham nor the jury could find any crime that was actually committed.

As always, the person on this thread trying to act as a subject matter expert is about as good at it as FSU has been at earning bowl games lately.

Our resident subject matter expert has fallen prey to political innuendo in Durham's output. Here's another excellent article (subscription or incognito-required) reviewing the investigation:

Sussmann Acquittal Raises Question: What Is Durham Actually Trying to Do?

Quotes by the author characterizing Durham's output:

"festooned the narrow charges with copious information, heavy with insinuations"
"selectively quoted..." to "fostering an impression"
    "material seemed extraneous"
"prosecutors added a few ambiguous sentences about separate concerns"

Bill Barr and his politicalization of the DOJ shall go down in infamy.

While also being a scumbag, I believe Barr also fits the definition of being insane. In interviews, he constantly lays out why Trump was so horribly unworthy of being POTUS but would vote for him again vs. any Dem because they are all "godless."
