Abogidi would be a good rebounding and defense get but his offense is limited to dunks off drop passes. Living in WA I got to see a lot of Wazzu games and Abogidi does not have the offensive chops to create for himself. He's limited to ferocious defense and rebounding

Which would be an ideal role for him at Florida except my guess is that he sees himself as a 28 minute guy which he may not get as a Gator

    A) Golden agrees on defensive rebounding and said as much in his opening presser.
    B) We are poised to be massively improved in those areas. Castleton and Felder were very good there when healthy. So was Lane when he got playing time. And we brought in Richard and Fudge, who are both plus defenders and rebounders for their positions. Our back line should be as good defensively as we have been since 2014. Backcourt defense is what worries me more.

He has made 24 threes at Washington, and he is an 80% free throw shooter. That said, I have not watched any film on him.

I'd say that those threes were definitely a product of the focus on other guys. But, point taken -- he made them, so he's got a stroke. He's not gonna wow you with back to basket scoring movements.

This guy likes more about Auburn more than Florida. I'm not saying this for shock value but most if the world could care less about being a Gator. I just happened to grow up in Florida and graduated from a state school as a Gator before heading off elsewhere. I have no regrets but it was quite by accident or just fate.

I don’t agree. Broome’s decision was reported as 50/50 to the end. My guess is that if CC wasn’t coming back, Broome would have chosen Florida.

Rydell ward just committed to LSU, now they have Ward and Jalen Reed. I am gagging now. I wonder what CTG is thinking now?

the only people that like these acquisitions for LSU
Are people that don’t know recruiting and that is alright to be unaware!

I guess you're aware. The kid's name is Tyrell Ward, not Rydell Ward. He is a top-50 high school player who plays the 3. Assuming we get Kugel, we have 6 guys who can play the 3 in Richard, Reeves, Kugel, Fudge, Lane and Felder. Apparently, you think that we need a 7th guy who can play that position. That means you must think that he is better than the other 6 guys. How about explaining why.

I guess first of all, kugel is not on the roster as of yet, maybe or not, second, I have watched Tyrell’s clips, very good handle, can create a shot on anybody, and is deadly accurate. I don’t think any of the six you have mentioned were top fifty. Not saying that some of these guys have made big jumps in their games, but Tyrell as a high school recruit will be trouble when we play LSU.

Also a fan of Tyrell’s game (but certainly not freak out worthy), just wanted to add that Kowacie was rated almost exactly where Ward is, Fudge was in the 50s and rising before he left to enroll early and Kugel is at 42 in on3’s final rankings

I get it as do others on these boards that Ward is a good player and will help LSU. That doesn’t make us not know recruiting. The Gators didn’t need this kid. They need another big man, and, perhaps, a point guard. Personally, I would like to see the SEC be the strongest conference in the country. Survive the conference, get a solid seed in the NCAA tournament and then kick ass. I didn’t see your need to say that we don’t know recruiting if we were bothered by Ward going to LSU, but no big deal.

We wouldn’t have gone after Ward unless we thought he was better than the three we have committed/ signed. Kugel they thought maybe he wouldn’t qualify, but if they didn’t want him to go somewhere else, well Ward’s ability was better in the coaches eyes. As for the comment some of us don’t know recruiting, well it was harsh and I should have point blanked the the persons that have replies that show they need a little better understanding of recruiting and a long experience watching these games unfold, they would better understand recruiting. LSU’s coach is setting LSU up for a decent season and is getting accolades for doing it. We need to find another guard and big before we are scraping bottom of the barrel. LOL

We offered Ward, Kugel and others who play the same position. Kugel looks like a top-20 player to me, maybe top-10. It doesn’t appear that we were ever considered by Ward. We have a solid roster right now that can be outstanding depending on the final signings.

Agreed. If we land Kugel, I am very happy with the roster. It seems like if we don’t assemble the ‘95-96 Bulls, people think our roster sucks.

It looks pretty damn good and if Kugel signs even better.

    Castleton / JJ
    Felder / Fudge
    Reeves / Richard
    Lane / Jones
    Aberdeen / Bonham

*No disrespect to May and Klatsky. I just don’t see them realistically getting any major burn without injuries.

Way better than I would have imagined 2 months ago...but could still be better and could have been ridiculously good. I'm pretty happy where we are, considering. Especially if we also get Kugel.
