Under Coach Golden and in the way that he has been recruiting in the transfer portal, Florida is a rising, basketball program both in the sunshine state and in the SEC.

To reiterate, Johni Broome has potentially three years of eligibility left and being from Plant City, FL, I hope that the young man chooses the Gators today! We'll know soon.

Amen, both good reasons to choose us instead of Auburn. Who the hell would prefer living in Alabama.
Decision in 10 minutes...after sweeping on it hope he choose the Gators

That sucks. Seems in the two sports I like (football and hoops) we are nearly always the second choice and left at the alter.

So who does that leave us to fill the hole left by Reed and now Broome...
We need to start that NBN Go Fund Players account

It’s not *that* surprising. Auburn is a good program with more playing time available at the five. Staff took a great shot at one of the best transfers in the country.

If CC and Jitoboh are healthy, we are fine at the 4-5, but it would be nice to add one more down there.

Not a bit surprising. From Broome’s point of view this was a no brainer. Pearl is a better known coach and can promise more playing time. I am sure that Brooke sees himself as a one (more) and done and expects to play in the league next year. It is probably that Florida could offer a better NIL deal but when you will be gone in a year to large money that did not constitute much of a draw. We can say that this was a bad choice but again, not surprising at all from Broome’s point of view.

With the NIL now, we at UF should have a stronger, wealthier fan base than Auburn. What Pearl can offer should be a fraction of what our boosters could offer
Gator Nation needs to form a coalition. If these SEC schools want to play ball with us, they better pony up. I'd put the earning power of a UF alumn against any other SEC school. Not to mention we probably have a larger alumnus population.

I sure hope so. 2 at 2 positions seems awfully thin, especially when they're both a bit injury prone.

There are 2 funds already set up to fund NIL payments to Gators. One is for the typical poverty stricken people like most of us to give 5 to 10 dollars a month or more. The other is for the ridiculously wealthy to give millions. Reed and Broome would not be playing the same position. There’s Efi Abojidi if he is still available. He can play the 4 and 5. Get him and Kugel, and we will be in great shape.
