Riley Kugel looks to me to be the best Gator prospect since Brad Beal, and he might be as good a prospect as Beal. I desperately want this kid. He can play the 1-3, and he could possibly play the point in the NBA. He also looks to me to be a potential one and done.

I can try to find one later today, but I watched 3 videos of about 16 minutes each, all of which were highlights of a single separate game, so you are not watching a highlight video which only shows good plays. The most recent one I watched was the January 13, 2022 Dr. Phillips vs Olympia game. It's an extraordinarily exciting game. Denzell Aberdeen played quite well and should be a positive asset for the Gators. Kugel was simply off the charts on defense, passing, shooting from the perimeter and driving to the basket and scoring. He is a big guard who is a spectacular athlete and is about as skilled a high school player as you can find. I believe that he flew under the radar because he had a late growth spurt that might not have been taken into account by the so-called experts.

In the video that I just posted, Dr. Phillips is wearing white, Aberdeen is #1 and Kugel is #2.

Ernest Udeh (heading for Kansas, I believe). Why not Kugel? What do you see that he does not excel at? I would love to have Udeh, but there will be quite a few other talented 6'10" guys that he has to compete against. He is a dominator inside, but we didn't see any other aspects of his game.

I’m not an expert at evaluating film, but I’ve felt the same way since Kugel became available - his skill and athleticism just jump off the screen - think he’d be a game changer for us….

I agree with you. Udeh is a nice player which is why he's going to Kansas and you can't teach size, but Kugel to me looks like a real game changer. If he can qualify I think he'll play significant minutes. His athleticism, shooting, & anticipation sets him a part. Really hope he qualifies. By sophomore year I think he's an all SEC player and possibly on his way to the League.

Kugel looks great too. 21 just caught my eye as a really explosive presence in the post.

Bradley Beal was an anomoly in today's game. Incredible talent for a freshman and yet humble and showed a lot of deference to the older players. He worked hard to earn their respect and showed respect to them as well.

After a few games I knew he was one and done and would be very succesful in the NBA. He played the game the right way.

I can also attest to Aberdeen being a positive attribute for the Gators. The scout I know had said back in December that he thought Aberdeen might turn out to be our best recruit, even when we had Malik Reneau as a commit. He thought Aberdeen was underrated as a recruit.

Udeh is really good. If I can find it later tonight, I will post the highlights of the game that Dr. Phillips lost by 1 point at the City of Palms to North Little Rock. North Little Rock was led by Nick Smith who is something like the #3 rated player in the country and is heading to Arkansas. His line in the game was 14 points, 7 assists, 6 turnovers and no steals. Kugel’s line was 24 points, 1 assist, 4 turnovers and 4 steals. Aberdeen had 16 points, 4 assists, 1 turnover and no steals. Smith is clearly a great player. Kugel seems to be right there with him. You also will get a chance to watch Udeh match up against a really good big man. He holds his own.

Would really like to see Kugel playing side by side with Nick Smith-if you can find that video.

Kugel looks very impressive on that tape, and that's on the same court as Jizzle James, who I think is way underrated.

Seen him up close and is very good but not one and done. He will play 3 years. Too many other scorers on next year’s team. I could see an all sec performer by Sophomore or Junior year.

I think you’re about 3 weeks behind some of us less astute b-ball fans who’ve called Mr Kugel the best non-post player recruit available. But we don’t know nothing cause we didn’t think Quez was an All-American. Yes, we’ve been saying the dude can play for a few weeks now,…you need to catch up !

Any update on his grades re academic clearance? It was said we'd know more in a few days almost a week ago, hope it's getting sorted

He might be great but I don't want to get my hopes up until he's cleared

There’s a clown in every crowd. I didn’t say that I was the first poster to see Kugel play or say that he was great, did I. Go find the post or posts that said he would be the best Gator recruit since Brad Beal and repost it please.

The longer it takes, the closer we get to losing this kid.
